“Biked from the Columbus Zoo at Powell to Henderson Road”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

The Olentangy Bike Path is very popular with all type of runners, walkers, and bikers. Watch out for other people. There are some ruts in the pavement. The path is maintained by the Metro Parks and they do a great job!

“Great variety on the path.”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

If start at North end, go from cool forest trees, to under I-270, to the lake, to the residential section, and pass through multiple parks, go past OSU stadium, to downtown at the Scioto River and Santa Maria. Interesting with some challenging sections of access on and around ramps and construction. One of our favorites because can go long-distance as path extends beyond downtown on Scioto Trail.

“Good, could be a LOT better”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

A very good path, with lots of great sights, some man-made, some natural. However, many detours during our trip, and we found the signage to be quite poor for a path of this size in a city of this size. There should be signs all along the way, including mile-markers no less than every quarter-mile, to give the rider confidence that they are still on the correct path. Especially when you went downtown, this was not the case. We were detoured off the path at least three times, but the detour route was confusing to say the least. Thank God for smartphones with Google Maps app. Saved the day.

Definitely a worthwhile path system, just needs Columbus Parks and Rec to bring it up to the standard that we have seen in other large cities.

“Nice bike trail”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

Bike trail that runs along the Olentangy River, unfortunately the 315 highway also runs this route so there is always some traffic noise. Lots of people biking, jogging, and walking the trail so it can get busy. Runs by OSU campus too so usually lots of eye candy to see.

“Well-Maintained, Great for Exercise”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

Very well-maintained trail, great for individual bike riding, running, or fast walking - but VERY crowded during nice weather, so there is not usually room to walk, run, or ride next to another person - doing so can be hazardous to you and your companion and also to those trying to pass in either direction. So look elsewhere for a leisurely stroll with a friend, but this is where to go for solo exercise.
