I would highly recommend Eddie Merlot. I went on Mothers Day and had the best experience. The food was hot and fresh with big portions, the ambiance was great and the customer service was spectacular!!! Shawn F was our waiter and he was nothing short of amazing!

We have dined at Eddie Merlot's a number of times. It is expensive, but it is not gracious and fine dining. Our waiter stood at one end of the table and called out to people to tell him their order instead of going from person to person. We told him the calling out was not acceptable. He also should have started with the women first which he did not. Also, asking us to pass food to others when he could walk around the table wasn't acceptable either. He had an attitude and was rather short when we pointed those issues out.

As for the food, it was OK, but the bison steak was so small you wondered where it was. Putting some garnishes on the plate might have helped. Just putting a tiny little steak on the plate made it look even smaller. It was very expensive especially given the size. The fillets were OK and a little larger.

We had a great experience at Eddie Merlot’s. We were treated with so much respect and consideration. We were a large family group and were in late on a very busy day, yet never felt rushed. The food was out of this world.

A nice atmosphere and a good place to have a fancy meal out with family. My sister and brother-in-law love this place so it is our special treat when we are in the Columbus area. Be sure to have a credit card or some money to burn.

Six of us recently ate together at Eddie Merlot's, and only one in the group had dined here before. By its reputation, most of us were anticipating a great steak or king crab dinner.

Let's start with the atmosphere. It is a beautiful restaurant, but we found it quite loud. Until two tables next to us left after finishing dinner, the six of us had trouble hearing each other across the table. However, we had no trouble hearing the waiter, who lavished praises on any and everything the restaurant did. Perhaps his hype would have been appropriate if we were doing a trial tasting for a large corporate catered event, but we were just there for dinner. You shouldn't have to tell us how great the food is; the proof should be the meal itself. This was off-putting for us.

For appetizers, we shared the Himalayan Pink Salt Block Ahi Tuna and the Sesame Calamari. All six of us thought that they were both excellent.

For entrees, most people had a Del Mar or the Alaskan Red King Crab Legs. The prices are not inexpensive, so you have great expectations. Unfortunately, neither reached our expectations. Those having the Del Mar thought the steaks were not nearly as good as Jeff Ruby's, and those having the "king" crab legs thought they were more "queen" sized. Nevertheless, all were felt to be good to very good dinners.

All in all, the incessant sales pitch really made for an awkward dining experience, so if I take a below average dining experience and place it with a very good meal, I come up with an average overall rating. For the cost, better options are available in the Columbus area.
