We frequently go to the Southern Theater for opera performances, and have seen a few plays there, too. It is a much smaller venue than the Ohio Theater or the Palace, but is a great place to watch a show.

Went to see Julius Caesar by the RSC which was a great production and even better because of the Theatre. A beautiful theatre, well worth the visit to see the opulence of the late 1800's. It was built as part of the hotel next door and the manager was telling us was the first theatre to have not only electricity but air conditioning.

Probably the oldest theater in Columbus, it has gone through a remarkable transformation over the past several years. Because it's smaller than both the Ohio Theatre and the Palace Theatre, there is a sense of intimaticy not found in the larger theaters. Perfect setting for one-man presentations, comedy, lectures, or small group performances. Parking is convenient, so arrive early and have a drink next door at the historic Southern Hotel.

This is a beautiful old theater in downtown Columbus, OH!! The ushers were very friendly and took us to our seats promptly. We were especially pleased that the parking garage is right across the street from the theater. It cost $5.00 for the evening- that was a good price we thought. The parking garage felt safe as there was staff present.

This little theater is an absolute gem. Floor access is easy, the seats are comfortable, and it is perfectly beautifully Victorian. We just watched the Royal Shakespeare Company's presentation of Julius Caesar and the acoustics were excellent.
