We were coming to Columbus for my husband to attend a conference and decided not to book at the conference hotel, Marriott Renaissance Downtown Columbus, the night before the conference started in order to save money on his conference budget. This hotel was right off the highway and just a 10-minute drive to the Renaissance in German Village with COSI (which my daughter and visited before checking in to the Renaissance) so it was a great location for us. The driveway to the hotel passes a McDonald's and other fast food restaurants so also great for people with little kids in carseats. However it did seem a little spooky driving all the way down to the end of the driveway to the somewhat deserted hotel with the attendant behind class. The room was decent for the price but the heater didn't work on full blast and the hot and cold taps' labels were backwards so I thought the hot water was also out until I figured that out. One or two light bulbs were burnt out and the outside door to the room next door was not fully closed and apparently couldn't be closed (warped?) which made me nervous.
