Description: Sergio Abramof's repertoire includes nearly 30 years as an expert chef and restaurant owner. A native of Brazil, he moved to the U.S. at the age of 10 and eventually settled in Cleveland. Sarava evokes the rhythm and flavors of Brazil in many ways: through its outstanding Street Plates, authentic drinks, and delectable dishes. We are located in the heart of vibrant Shaker Square, and offer multiple dining and lounge options for our guests. An extensive 24-seat bar adjoins an intimate dining area. There is a cozy fireplace lounge with additional booth seating, and our private Rio Room. Brazil, like the United States, is a melting pot, teeming with the unique cultures and flavors of Africa, Europe, and Asia. Come experience Brazil's rich cultural heritage with us at Sarava where samba is at the heart of everything we do. Visit our sister restaurant, Sergio's in University Circle, and get a taste of Italian, seafood, and cross-cultural cuisine.

A group of friends went to sit on the patio, eat, drink, and experience the appealing music of Brazilian Samba (but not necessarily in that order.) Food is expensive but unique, fresh, and filled with unusual tasty ingredients. The appetizers help lead one into the more exotic flavors. The fresh fruit drinks and Brazilian drinks are perfect for a hot summer evening. The music is warm and jazzy and creates an exotic atmosphere. Service is attentive and experienced. Made for a wonderful evening.

We ate at Sergio's at Shaker Square on a Saturday night. It was busy, but not packed, and we had a reservation, so we got seated right away. They have a daily Happy Hour with great deals, but we were there too late. A couple people in our party ordered the Xim Xim, and they loved the flavor! I had the scallops, which were in a wonderful curry sauce that was a little sweet and not at all spicy. We had one person in our party who needed a gluten free menu, and Sergio's had plenty to choose from. The only down side was that our server disappeared a couple times and we felt like we waited a little longer than we needed to at some points in the meal. The server was very nice though, so we didn't mind too much.

Never had such a fun evening in our lives! Sergio really knows how to put on a Brazilian bash! Great food, too. Sooooo much fun to go here! And we love that Sarava has brought so much fantastic energy to the Shaker Square area.

The bosa nova that greeted us outside the front door gave us a hint of what was in store. Beautifully designed and decorated, with an exciting buzz--even early on a Thursday evening, this creative restaurant has an intriguing array of exotic Brazilian dishes to offer. For the less adventuresome, there are also street plates that range from mini-hamburgers to fried spinach. We loved the apple/brie salad.
