“World class orchestra”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

Truly enjoyed the performance we attended in Severance Hall - truly a beautiful space to enjoy great music. Tip: if you haven't been here before, there are pre-concert talks that start one hour ahead of time. We also really enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant ahead of time. If you arrive for parking before five you will not need a special ticket for the performance. We found this out by chance, when we were looking for parking for the art museum which is a short walk from Severance Hall and the garage.

“Great orchestra in a classic venue”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

If you enjoy classical music at all, make it a point to visit Severance Hall. I was very impressed reading all the activities (Miami, Europe) of this orchestra - it is not the stuffy old member of the 'big five' that I had assumed. The playing is superb, and the hall is a delight to the eyes.

I sat on the main floor for the first half, then moved to an empty seat upstairs for the second half. The sound was far superior upstairs, and the view more interesting also.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

We were there for Mitsuko Uchida's Mozart performance in April. It was the best I've seen. She was incredible. She conducted and played piano at the same time. She was a presence! The entire symphony was spectacular. and I would highly recommend seeing them. As far as the sound goes, there isn't a bad seat in the house it seems. However, we ordered our tickets online and were unaware that they were handicap accessible. It meant that we were on the very edge with a guardrail around us. As younger symphony guests, this was a little awkward. We would have preferred to know that in advance so that we would have chosen different seats. Keep that in mind if you are looking at ends of the row seats.Parking was easy. The hall was lovely. It was quite an experience.
