A Cleveland classic. Servers have been there forever. The Academy Burger is one of the burgers in town. Classic old wooden bar. New patio is awesome. A must do for all Clevelanders.

I was looking at reviews of this restaurant. First, let me tell you that I live in Chesterland, Ohio a good 40 minutes away from this place and my family and I still go here about every month (we used to live closer), Now I WOULD NOT recommend that you drive that distance for this restaurant, the carpet is old, the lighting is low, and the place is old. Now that is also the charm (the carpet not so much). The waitresses remember what we ordered a month ago, they are all nice and professional. The salad with the house Italian and crumbled blue cheese is great. So is the Fried (Broasted) chicken! The bread is good and every meal that we have had there is consistently good. Is it fine dining, no and it is not intended to be. The patio is nice there is a small band on Friday or Sat. and the prices are very reasonable. It a good place for dinner, and a drink, if you know what to expect. Its an old neighborhood place - come one come all.

Service was indifferent at best. Workers kept stepping out to smoke leaving the back door open so you get the nice mix of cold air and smoke if your in that part of the restaurant.

This place has been around forever. Their food is standard American - meat & potato fare. It is very good. It is inexpensive. They may not take credit cards (I don't remember). The staff is brusque and efficient. It will not appeal to a "foodie" but it will appeal to someone who needs a good, quality, comfort food meal. I love the place. Oh, and I am a foodie, too. Parking is dicey & it's a tad hard to find.

This place seems like it is stuck in the 1960s, which looks like the last time it was decorated or the menu changed. Customers are few and the help seems poor. Time to close or needs a complete change. Dingy
