“nice little place with entertainment of variable quality”

this is an unassuming place with modest decor but features seating that puts you in close proximity to the live performances. the performers a good, but perhaps a little rough. this is altogether in keeping with the nature of the place - they do not have a cover charge (they solicit donations to the band instead after you have had a chance to listen to some of the performance) and so potentially you are getting what you pay for.

Having been a regular at the Spider for years, I highly recommend it as a place to enjoy live music(nightly..no cover) and to engage in animated conversation with a variety of folks that pass through. Jenna(the daughter of the late Martin Juredine..founder) has managed to carry on the welcoming warm atmosphere that has defined the Spider. The music can vary from George Foley's jazz piano(a la Fats Waller) to various types of folk acts. Always something different. Just remember to contribute when the haat is passed.

Hidden on a back alley this casual bar which appears to be a past carriage house type building has a tree covered outside area as well as a barn style inside. They also have a regular schedule of local music. Nothing fancy but a very neat place to grab a beer.

Had a great time here yesterday afternoon. Cold beer and hot music. Where else can you sip to 1920's dance music? Great, small venue.

Local, very casual bar with live entertainment. No need to worry about what to wear. Many different types of beer to choose from. No frills, but lots of fun and only a few steps away from Glidden House Hotel.
