Description: The Flying Fig has long been at the forefront of the farm-to-table movement. After nearly two decades, it remains our goal to support small family farms and local food artisans while creating critically acclaimed menus that evolve frequently to reflect seasonal availability. Our bar features a large, diverse wine list and craft cocktails prepared with local, fresh, and seasonal ingredients. Our atmosphere reflects our diverse neighborhood and is casual and friendly. Founded by owner and executive chef, Karen Small, next door to the restaurant is a small boulangerie-inspired pantry called Market at the Fig. The Market offers artisan sandwiches, fresh breads, and local products like pasta sauces and wines. Together, the two storefronts create a contemporary Parisian-inspired corner on a cobble-stoned street in Cleveland.

Beautiful atmosphere. My family and I ate here on a Sunday at brunch time. We felt that the choices were very limited. Our waiter was not very knowledgeable. And they were not willing to make changes for vegetarians.

Was there a few weeks ago with another couple. Had a terrific cheese plate appetizer, best hamburger of my life, and a delicious special seasonal ale. Everyone loved their meal. Great atmosphere and location. We are out a lot, and we will be back to "the Fig".

We went to the Flying Fig upon our B&B owner's recommendation and definitely were not disappointed. We were lucky enough to be in town during Cleveland's Restaurant Week, so my husband ordered from the prix fixe menu (bruschetta, hanger steak, apple crisp) while I ordered the stuffed winter squash.

As a vegetarian, it's hard to find a unique and satisfying dish at restaurants, especially when options are quite limited, but the stuffed winter squash was one of the best vegetarian meals I have had at a restaurant in a very long time. It was cooked to perfection, filling, and satisfying.

Our server, Dave, was welcoming, friendly, and willing to answer all the questions we had about the menu. The ambiance was nice, although the restaurant could be a bit loud at times, but that didn't take away from our dining experience.

I would highly recommend trying out the Flying Fig when you're in town.

We planned to eat lunch at Great Lakes Brewery in Ohio City but there was a 45 minute wait so we walked across the street to The Flying Fig, looked at the menu and decided to try it. I had the Migas egg scramble with chorizo sausage - it was fabulous, friends had the turkey sandwich with fresh chips - outstanding and the corn and anduouille sausage pancakes - everything was great! The bread served with apple butter was really tasty! They have a really good wine and beer selection - the service was great - the only thing that bothered me was the carpet really needed to be cleaned. That said, everything else passed muster and we stopped in the market next door and picked up some of the wares. We will certainly go back again! Pricing was mid-range, we were dressed casual and were very comfortable.
