“Plants and Butterflies - A wonderful combo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2009

Bring your camera; there is plenty to focus on! The butterfly collection includes thousands freely moving about the rainforest and viewers. The outdoor plantings include roses, japanese garden, water lily pond, perennial and annual plantings. The restaurant has a good menu at reasonable prices.

“one of the best botanical gardens anywhere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2009

a wonderfully pleasant surprise---loads of culture and museums in one area---the botanical gardens are fabulous---different themes beautifully laid out and kept up---including herbs, children's, japanese, and so many more---even a costa rican rainforest with a canopy walk---loads of birds and butterflies flying around in this unique enclosed conservatory---AND---for the enthusiast, every plant is clearly labelled---i wish there was time to check out the museums across the street

“Loved the Dog Days at the Cleveland Botanic Garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2009

Last weekend we wanted to do a short out of town trip from the Chicago area. We decided to visit Cleveland because the area offers so many dog-friendly attractions (we have a little shih tzu who loves to travel with us). On Sundays this summer, well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed to visit the garden. The Cleveland Botanic Garden is lovely--the perfect size to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon. We took our time going through the different areas of the garden. We really loved that much of the garden was lush and shady (the rose garden was gorgeous, too). The fact that they allowed canine pals on Sundays was a motivating factor for our trip. With or without canine pal, the garden is a beautiful place to visit.

“Fun for everyone...Close to more”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2008

We live in Cleveland and visit the Botanical Gardens several times a year. We haven't been to many other Botanical Gardens in our travels so I can't make any comparisons.
The outdoor theme gardens are beautiful in every season. You have to walk up and down stairs or ramps...FYI.
The children's garden is very fun and interactive for the kids. The fountains, fish pond and giant tree house were favorites of my son when he was small. The fountain is nice for the little ones if you visit in the heat of the summer.
The inside exhibit is quite large and there are butterflies flying all around. They do land on you..FYI
The restaurant is a little pricey but the food is very good and it is especially nice if you can get a seat outside near the rose garden.
The Botanical Garden is situated in the museum hub of Cleveland. You can park your car and visit the Botanical Gardens, Cleveland Art Museum, Natural History Museum and the Cleveland Orchestra all within a few blocks. There are many family friendly outdoor spaces in the area as well.
Cleveland's Little Italy district is just up the street and a great place for a nice dinner after a long day of museum hopping.
