Nice gardens with a variety of environments and displays. Our kids enjoyed the visit and with so many museums in the area you can part and walk to several during one visit.

Excellent inside exhibits (the butterflies!!!) and great outdoor spaces. The Children's Garden is wonderful! Walk the whole thing; there are lovely paths and quiet spaces. Really worth the trip!

Our favorites were the walk through the tree top in the Costa Rica display and the butterflies. It could be relaxing, we had poor timing so it was quite noisy with young ones running around and squealing. Got plenty of ideas on how to improve my own gardens - very nice place to visit. Nothing really in bloom when were visited but imagine it could be quite lovely in Spring. If you love gardening and birds (many find a home here) - it is worthwhile taking a look. Good experience, you`d never know you were surrounded by city - it`s a great escape.

The visual beauty of the wide array of colorful flowers is a sight to behold.
Location in the heart of University Circle is perfect complement to a wide array of university and museum buildings in the area.

The Botanical Gardens are a must-see.

The plantings are gorgeous and the flowers are lovely, but for me the highlight was the glass house.

One room features plants and creatures from Madagascar. The chameleons are fun and the leaf cutter ants have their own charm, as does the little hedgehog in the tree trunk.

The next room features the Costa Rican rain forest, and the Gardens keep it filled with butterflies. Beats any butterfly house I've ever seen. Most of them are temporary structures. This is a year-round exhibit, three stories tall, and it has thousands of tropical butterflies fluttering, sipping nectar, flirting with one another in the sunlight, occasionally landing on a finger.

As a bonus, the docents are well-versed in butterfly lore, patient, and enthusiastic.

Then when you have emerged from the warmth of the glass house, you can sit above the canon in air-conditioned comfort, watching the top level of butterflies do their sweet gymnastics.
