Tower City has the potential to be a great place to visit and hang out, especially if you are a tourist; however, the one GLARING flaw with this place (especially on the weekends) is that it really doesn't cater to tourists- especially with all of the hotels in the immediate area (there are at least TWO connected to the building itself).

When you are a tourist looking to spend your tourist dollars on shopping and such and you walk into Tower City only to find empty storefronts or even worse, stores/shops that are CLOSED on the weekends, then what's the point? Very frustrating to see as a resident who only wants to see this city grow as a destination point. Even more frustrating to see tourists walking around aimlessly throughout Tower City looking for things to do. Sad. This place has a lot of potential- it just needs a chance to really shine.

Who says you can't time travel? We had parked here for an event at the Q arena. On our way back to the parking lot, we had somehow walked through indoor building corridors and discovered a blast from the past mall. It was like taking a trip down memory lane back into the 90's. This place really holds its history. I could even smell the old cigarette smoke settled into the walls, you know, back when smoking was allowed in the public indoors. We didn't explore the whole place though, we only walked passed a small food court. It was a really strange experience.

We're all waiting..... for Dan Gilbert and company to decide what he and his company are going to do with Tower City. The home of the Cleveland International Film Festival for many years, patrons of that event wonder where CIFF will go in the years to come. Restaurants (including Hard Rock) have left along with a good chunk of retail as they can't make business decisions without a clear direction from ownership of the place. Yes, Starbucks and Brooks Brothers are still there but not many other notable (or useful) retail or food outlets remain. Paging Dan Gilbert...

Tower City is a 4-story shopping plaza located in the heart of downtown Cleveland. This plaza contains restaurants, the Cleveland transit authority, a multiple stores casino and a large Ritz Carlton. I would not travel a long distance to visit the mall but very nice for those living downtown.

There is a walk bridge over the road connecting the parking garage to the casino which you can exit to the mall.

The mall contains interesting scenery with waterfalls and fountains. Murals of Cleveland history are displayed on some walls. Stairs, escalators and elevators are available to move between on floor and the next.

I can envision that this place was probably great a long time ago but not now. Was in the area while my mom had appointments at Cleveland Clinic & decided to venture out for a little. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular but that was probably a good thing for my pockets because this “mall” had nothing. I saved money. The best part of my trip was riding the free Trolley the city provides to get around downtown.
