“Emerald Necklace is a great drive!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

Many times over the years I have driven through the emerald necklace-all the way from Rocky River past Berea. It is very relaxing and the scenery is beautiful. There are many places to stop for a picnic or to take a hike. It's great bird watching, too! All in all a nice way to wind down after a day in the city!

“Surrounding Cleveland everywhere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

This park sytsem is amazing. No matter which part of the city you are in, the Emerald Necklace has a park nearby. They all have hiking and biking trails, shelters, playgrounds. Ech one is a bit different with its own special features. Check them out!

“Best Muncipal park in the country!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2013

Best Municipal park in the country! To be able to drive all the way around Cleveland from the west side to the east side dipping down as far south as Brecksville is amazing. And to then also go through the Cuyahoga valley national park!

“You can't say anything bad about the Cleveland Metroparks!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

If you're a nature lover, like myself, you can completely immerse yourself in nature, be it fishing, hiking, swimming, bike riding, picnicking, or anything to do with nature, you will absolutely love the miles and miles of this park. It's called the Emerald Necklace because it circles the Cleveland area from northwest to southwest to southeast to northeast. There's lakes for fishing and swimming, miles of bike trails, and picnic tables almost everywhere. It's kept very clean and the metro park rangers are constantly riding through the park if you have any kind of problem, they are there to help you.

“An Amazing Asset for the city of Cleveland and its suburbs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

I don't know if there are any other cities that have a similar park system covering such a large area, but the Cleveland Metroparks system, often referred to as the Emerald necklace, encircles Cleveland and its eastern, southern, and western suburbs with a natural system of reservations offering a staggering array of opportunities for people of all ages and physical capacities to get outdoors and enjoy nature. Because there are so many offerings, the best way to learn what's available is to visit the Cleveland Metroparks website and read through that. No matter what season of the year you visit, you are sure to find something beautiful to see, and fun to do. Biking and hiking trails are plentiful, there is golf, horseback riding, archery, fishing, etc. There are picnic spots, Nature Centers, programs, classes. Too much to list here. People who are lucky enough to live near an entrance to the Parks will return often, but even one who visits Cleveland infrequently, or even just once, should make an effort to get out into one of these Reservations and enjoy nature almost in the heart of a bustling, busy, urban location. How lucky we are that some people had the foresight to set aside such a large parkland for the enjoyment and education of its citizens.
