This older hotel is average. The service is EXCELLENT as always. Rooms are clean though dated. Wall paper is beginning to peel at the edges. Very convenient location. The "free breakfast" is super-salty microwaved eggs, make your own waffles, fruit, cereal, etc. There really are decent microwave breakfast items in the marketplace, but not found at this hotel.

The greenwashing of the Hampton chain is very annoying: a) if you insist on plastic cutlery, make it of a quality that is useable - it is IMPOSSSIBLE to cut the waffles with the ultra-flimsy plasticware offered: b) the cheapo paper cups absorb the liquis in minutes - the coffee etc starts tasting like cardboard and the cup collapses - if plastic is good enough for the cutlery, use plastic for the cups. With these cheap paper cups, a person has to get a new cup for EVERY refill of cofee, juice or water. I had to use an average of 6 cups in the room per day, where one plastic would have sufficed. c) If the hotel wants to really be green, tell the maids to quit tossing away a 3/4 full bottle of shampoo, conditioner, etc every morning. This is a bigger waste of resources.

Stayed 3 nights at the Hampton downtown. Booked the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame package which was great. Jason at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and staff friendly.Breakfast was great. No complaints except they couldn't give us our 3 rooms together but partially our fault for arriving late due to traffic and distance we were travelling. Loved the location , walked everywhere and very impressed with how clean and safe Cleveland was. The Rock and Roll Hall of fame was great the first time but even better when we brought back friends and family to see it. The fireworks Friday was great but enjoyed the baseball game and Rock and Roll fireworks Saturday night even better. What a SHOW and game that was. CLEVELAND you Rock and thanks for the experience. We loved it.

Room Tip: Loved the King size beds.with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Package.

We arrived before check in time. OK we were early so we left the luggage and went exploring. When we came back 3 hours later they had given our room away! I booked online and prepaid for a double suite with sleeper, refrig included. What they offered us was two doubles or a king with a sofa. I hope they enjoyed putting their beds back together from the make shift bed we had to make on the floor with the extra blankets. As compensation we were offered free parking. Not much use when you didn't bring a car with you!

We stayed at the Hampton while visiting downtown Cleveland, specifically the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is VERY conveniently located to all of the downtown attractions. The bell staff were very friendly and whisked our car away immediately and retrieved it for us quickly when we left. While we had a package deal that included self-parking (in a garage around the corner), the Hampton upgraded us to valet (with unlimited in and outs) for only $3. Because we had a late flight on the day we checked out, they happily checked our bags for us and held them. The breakfast was adequate and held us to lunch. The beds were very comfy and everything was neat and clean. We were asked for our preference of floors and were given a room with a view of the lake.

Upon arrival the valets were great but things went downhill from there. The front desk had one helpful clerk and one surly clerk that embarrassed a traveling companion as he tried to check in She gave him the wrong key to the wrong room on the wrong floor and then tried to say he was wrong.
Breakfast was not ready to go at 6am as advertised, beds were uncomfortable and ice machine on our floor did not work.
