“inconsitant, but very good when they are on point”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2014

Fast service, good salsa, and when the food is served right away hot and fresh it is very good. If you have to wait which is rare you may have cold food.

“Good Mexican Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Good food and drinks, but not a great place to relax - good if you're in a hurry. Golden margaritas are excellent; nice variety on the menu ; servers always friendly and efficient.

“Expensive, service lacking after initial contact.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

Having lived in Chardon all my life my wife and I have seen quite an evolution with El Patron. Started out as above average food and service at a reasonable price. Now with a much larger seating capacity, due to expansion of space in the strip of stores. The service is below average and the prices are high for Mexican food. Asked for extra tortillas with my meal and was charged for them when the bill came (no warning when I asked for them). The next visit asked for some guacamole for my mother's dish, charged extra when we received the bill. COFFEE, wow $ 2.25 I'm surprised they don't charge for refills. I think the restaurant is going to see a decline. New restaurants are coming and going in my book this one is going down if they do not improve pricing and service. Bob Evans is on the way 2014.

“Excellent salsa”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014

Stumbled upon this place. Only things that prevent a 5 star rating is that there was no lunch menu (we went on a Saturday) and no ala carte offerings. The salsa and chips were among the best! Wish I would have taken a pint of salsa home.Very nice atmosphere too. Will return when in the area.

“Pricey”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2014

Good food (nothing special) and portion size but have gotten very expensive since they first opened. They have jacked up the price compared to the El Patron in the next town south of here. Same food just more expensive. They must think the upper crust people of Chardon can pay more than the people of Middlefield. Good Salsa. Average service, We live half way between the 2 and find the Middlefield restaurant to have bigger portion size, faster service and friendlier staff.
