Travel to Dayton frequently, this is a definite do not miss destination for great food. The food is always amazing, with a good variety of specials. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The two primary bartenders are excellent, with some creative drinks. It is a hidden gem in the Dayton area. Have been to a few of the other “top” restaurants in the area, they do not begin to compare with Rue. Try the steak Frites, the white ketchup is an excellent touch.

This is my new favorite restaurant for special occasions in Dayton. Everything we had was perfectly seasoned, and delicious! Although - this is based on the old menu, I have yet to try the new!

Either the appetizer or the entree version of the scallops. Pretty much perfection. The desserts, when tarts, are memorable. Dress warmly!

We have been trying to get there for the past few years without success. Friends and reviews claimed Rue Dumaine was one of the greatest, but we were dissappointed. Had difficulty finding an exciting choice of entree'. Settled on the Duck Breast with an orange reduction and beet risotto. I didn't care for the beet risotto and couldn't taste the orange which is my favorite seasoning for duck. We didn't think the menu was particularly French or New Orleans. We were expecting French Creole. The tables were small and somewhat crowded. The drinks and wine were small pours and expensive for their size. I had a good Bordeaux Blanc by the glas though.

Easily one of the best dining experiences. This gem is tucked away innocuously in a strip mall but delivers an incomparable fine dining experience. The New Orleans French food is at its very best. Everything on the menu is great. So you are spoilt for choice!
