I had a large group (20 rooms) in Canton for a business meeting everyone raved about the villas. You won't believe that you're in Canton, Ohio. My guests were from all over the US and each was impressed. There are four rooms per villa. The rooms were spacious and well appointed, each had a fire place, flat screen HD TV, a shower large enough not to need a door, comfortable beds, and even a towel warmer.

Each villa had a large common area with a fireplace, patio, refrigerator, separate ice machine, and plenty of seating (large table, a couch, comfortable easy chair, and two small table & chairs.

There is no fitness room, the restraurant is not open on Mondays, but you get a warm breakfast each morning delivered to your villa. They should consider building a spa- that would put this place over the top!

The Villas at Gervasi exceeded our expectations. At first we thought it strange to have this place in the middle of a residential area, but once you enter the grounds you feel as if you’ve been transported to another place. We stayed in the Villa Sorrento which I would recommend as it is one of the closest to the lake, and the views are amazing. We were in Sorrento 301 which is the two queens, we wanted the king but even booking 2 months out the queens were all they had available. The décor in the villas is gorgeous and not over the top, very tasteful. Each Villa has a stocked fridge in the common area with juice, pop, water and yogurt. However, either the other residents of the villa took all the water, or Gervasi should stock a few more bottles there were only a couple left when we checked in around 4pm. The rooms also have individual fridges for your personal items. The bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch even though we didn’t utilize them. The breakfast delivered in the morning had a nice assortment of pastries, fruit and eggs. Serving it in the wine box was a nice added touch!

I only have two complaints regarding the villas, first they didn’t have non-feather pillows in the room (or at least I didn’t see them in the closet). I am not a fan of feather pillows, and it wasn’t until late that I realized there weren’t any in the room. It is possible I could have called the desk and they would have brought me some, but by then I was already ready for bed. The only other item that was disappointing was that our fireplace didn’t work. We turned on the timer and nothing happened. We called the desk to see if we were missing a switch or something, and the girl was new and didn’t know. She indicated that someone (maintenance maybe) would be arriving at midnight and they could call me back. We declined since we about to go to sleep and didn’t want to stay up another hour to wait for their call.

Other then those two minor issues we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again for a special occasion.

Room Tip: Villa Sorrento one of the closest to the lake. There are one or two villas that have patios that fa...

We could not have picked a better place to celebrate my husband's birthday. We own a bed and breakfast and needed a getaway. When we check-in a hotel or bed & breakfast we notice things that the average traveler may not. Gervassi has thought of EVERYTHING! The decor makes you feel like you're in Italy. The mattresses, linens, bathrobes, slippers, bath amenities, and room decor are luxury all the way. The lighting, the sitting areas, the privacy, all all great. Being able to control the room temperature is another plus. The view of the landscape and lake are breathtaking. We stayed in Portofino and would do it again in a minute. The complimentary coffee, juice, soda, and bottled water were a welcome amenity. We didn't watch much TV but they even have a 2nd TV in the bathroom! The tile work in the bathroom and the shower was excellent. I cannot think of anything that I would change!
So you are probably saying, "She must have found something wrong" . . . There were some cobwebs on the chandeliers in the bathroom and dust all over the air intake vent that you could see from the couch but in their defense we can dust a room in the a.m. and when we check a guest in during the afternoon we'll spot a cobweb. Some things just can't be helped.

The opposite of a hotel chain and we loved it? Spent one nite at Fireze Villa after cooking class w/ Fabio and glad we did as it snowed 5" and we had a bottle of wine! Whoever decorated these villas has great style and taste. High end everything w/out being over the top. Favorites include radiant heated floor, huge comfy king siza bed, lemon verbena toiletries, great showers, remote control window blinds. four rooms all open into big common living room space w/ fridge and ice so could make this a fun gathering for 8 ppl. Breakfast comes in a big wooden box and is included w/ room price, so ate juices and fresh fruit. We fell asleep to flickering fire which is on 60 min timer so goes off while you're sleeping. I want to come back!

Room Tip: Room 103 has great view of woods and lake

We spent two nights here to celebrate our anniversary and highly recommend these beautiful villas that opened Nov 1, 2011. Great attention to detail has been paid in creating each suite - from the door style to the light fixtures, everything is designed to make you feel like you're in Tuscany and they succeeded (except here everyone speaks English :-) You can read all about the amenities on their website.

On our first night we took a ride in a beautiful white horse-drawn carriage. $10 for up to 4 people. I played "Baby It's Cold Outside" on my iPhone as we wound our way down the road lined with white-light wrapped trees. So romantic!

One night we stayed in a king suite and our second night we paid for a two-level king suite. Both my hubby and I agree there's no real need to spend the extra money on the two-level room.

While it's nice, the bathroom and closet are downstairs which, honestly, is a little inconvenient.
Since the bathrooms aren't that big, you end up getting dressed in the living room or schlepping your clothes from the downstairs closet to the bedroom upstairs to get dressed.

We stayed in the Siena villa, room 503, the first night and Verona 604 the second night. Each had fireplaces but, again, we like the single floor layout better because the fireplace is where the bed is . . .pure romance. In the two-floor layout the fireplace is in the living room downstairs. We spent very little time down there. :-)

Also, if you or your partner are the kind of people who get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, you have to navigate the stairs . . . Not safe or convenient when you are half asleep and it's dark. (The stairway has light but you know what I mean.)

The villas are set around the lake which is a beautiful. However, there is an active railroad and on our first night a train came thru. It didn't last long but it sounded pretty close. Also, the doors into each villa and the doors of the suites themselves make a loud noise which reverberate thru the entire villa. Be kind to your neighbors and don't let them slam.

Each villa has four suites that share a common area. The fridge in this area is stocked with complementary yogurt, water, soda and juices. There is also ice, a basket of fresh fruit and a microwave. You also have a fridge in your room (where we stored a couple of bottles of champagne).

We loved the fluffy white robes from Restoration Hardware and there is a blue ray DVD player in each room. Bring your own movie and microwave popcorn for a lazy afternoon in bed.

Breakfast was delivered in a wine box and left in the common area with the room number. There's an in-room coffee maker to brew your own cuppa Joe. Breakfast was an assortment of fresh pastry and grapes.

We had in-room couples' massages by Divine Touch - they were great. Wish we would have gotten the longer one!

We had dinner one night at 91 Wood Fired Oven, just a short drive away. It was excellent. Dinner the second night was at The Bistro at Gervasi. We made reservations online. It was very busy but service was excellent and so was the food. We loved the wings, duck and fig pizza, and the apple and cheesecake desserts.

The Bistro was decorated for Christmas and it was STUNNING! It's an old barn built in 1820 something and is full of character. We could not have asked for a better place to celebrate our anniversary. When our desserts arrived the chef had written "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate on the platter. So thoughtful!

It was a perfect weekend with the exception of one incident. It's not really the fault of Gervasi's but it is something to keep in mind since you are sharing a common area.

We were awoken at 2:15am with VERY loud talking and a screaming baby in the common area. There are signs posted asking people to be courteous, however, this woman was going on and on about her shuttle ride. After 5 min. or so, I got out of bed and poked my head out the door where I saw two Gervasi staff (I believe shuttle drivers given the conversation) and I just said, "seriously?" They hushed up but we couldn't fall asleep for a couple of hours and that morning she had her crying baby in the common area. Gervasi offered to give us the upgraded room we paid for in a villa where there was no one else, so we had a peaceful night.

You would think people would have the common sense to keep their crying baby in their own room (which is nicely sound proofed). Believe me, other people DO NOT want to hear that. And how rude is it to be holding a complaint session at 2AM? Some people have NO common sense or common courtesy.

It would be great if in the future Gervasi designated "kid-free" villas or set aside villas that are family friendly. They've only been in operation a month or so. Hopefully they will do some tweaking.

Minus this inconvenience we enjoyed our stay and a we WILL be back.

Room Tip: All villas are great.
