“Poor service, no hot water”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Nice looking lodge. Stayed in the lodge one night. Power went out for several hours over night. They do not have generators so we had to deal with it. Took a shower at 9 am next morning, water was hardly luke warm. According to the manager this is normal, they don't have enough hot water for the morning demand. Keep in mind this was February. Don't expect hot showers in the summer when capacity is full. They did not give is a discount for the inconvenience.

Ate breakfast at the lodge. Food was good, but it took about 45 minutes to get our food. Also waitress did not give us our full meals as ordered.

Overall there seemed to be a lack of accountability and regard for customer satisfaction. Definately did not get what we paid for.

“"Very disappointed"”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2013

We haven't returned there for a couple of years but as soon as we entered the cottage we noticed that the hot tub was empty. They did immediately fixed the issue and gave us free breakfast. This last stay when we entered the cottage the hot tub was cold and would not warm up. Maintenance said it was a half hour fix but would take 3-4 hours to use it. Maintenence was there for 2 hours and was still there when we were told that management would take $100 off our stay. I would rather be told that we would need to go to another cottage or even return the money. We left after staying just over an hour and a half. We didn't even get the $100.00 deducted that they said they would do either. The park was beautiful, but I would never stay at the cottage again.

“Perfect Christmas Get-Away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2013

We stayed as a family at the lodge....Christmas decorations, lights, fireplaces etc all added to some great pictures and warm atmosphere during a very cold snowy season. Can't wait to go back....by the way, they have the best coffee ever! Try a cup and relax on leather sofas near the fireplace.....AHHHH!

“Even in the winter - a nice relaxing getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

I visited Salt Fork one year for my birthday and we all had the best getaway weekend. If you go in the winter, take your winter gear and hit the hills from some sledding - but be warned, these hills are not for the faint of heart. I started about half way down with my little boy - but my husband and son did do the whole hill....once. Hiking back up is not nearly as much fun as going down. The deer will appear on the grounds from the lodge and it is beautiful to watch them grazing. You might even throw some corn to them, but don't let on - course, pretty sure the deer know to expect it, but not sure the lodge folks would approve of it.
