We went for our anniversary and it was a mess from the moment we walked in the door. We stayed in the Cherry Suite and it was dark, outdated and noisy. Being that the room is located in the basement there are only egress windows that you cannot see out of. The floors were very creaky and every step anyone made you could hear in the room. The jacuzzi jets were visibly dirty and grimey, the sink had build up all along the faucet and the couch had several small stains and tears. While the employees had the best of intentions I think the Hideaway is very unorganized. No one seemed to know what the other person put into the computer. We quickly realized that any romatic add ons we requested we would have to hound them to receive. We asked the staff at least 3 times for our smore package and when we finally got it they said; "oh sorry we ran out of chocolate." What good is a smore without chocolate? We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts and generally the breakfast is a highlight of the trip. In this case it was not. The orange juice was watered down and came in a glass full of ice, the 1st course was the best part of the meal; a small scone and half an orange. The main course was an undercooked egg soufle and 2 pieces of bacon. Neither of us liked it. Nor did the other couple across from us. They left saying they were going to Mcdonalds. The final straw came when we asked what time we should check in to the other room that we made reservations for but couldn't have the 1st night because it was already booked. And they said " oh sorry someone called this morning and we gave it to them." Seriously!! I was already charged and had a print out from their computer system telling me that I had booked and paid for the room the previous night! Some would say it was a nightmare....we drove 2 hours to stay here for our 10th anniversary and we ended up leaving early. Honestly, I will never go back. The town was a bust as well....aside from the mexican restaurant. Not a thing to see or do.

My husband and I spent two nights in the hunter's den loft. I must admit, we purchased a package through AAA which made it much more reasonable. The jacuzzi in the room is great, and the food at the restaurant is delicious. The staff was very helpful and the grounds are kept up beautifully. Most importantly, everything seemed very clean. I would definitely recommend HideAway Country Inn to couples looking for a quiet getaway.

We arrived on a Monday a little later then check in because of traffic. Instead of just leaving us the information, the staff waited for us to arrive. We were the only ones there. It's a beautiful fall setting and peaceful. You feel all the stress from your every day life melt away. The room was beautiful and comfortable. It was our 12th anniversary and we could not have enjoyed it more. The breakfeast was large and delicious. We had a couples massage that was the best we could ever have had. I could not have asked for a better anniversary. We will return there.

It was OK. For the money we spent, we should of went to Landoll"s Mohican Castle. A little more of a drive, but the rooms were a lot better and the food was better. First of all, they were down on staff members. We were in the Cherry Room and the fire went out. A boy came down, without knocking our announcing himself to start another fire. Good thing I wasn't dressing for dinner. Our dinner was OK. We order one thing and got another. We ordered a flatbread with sausage on it and got something totally different, and salad without cheese and it came with cheese. Like I said, it just wasn't worth the money we spent. We didn't stay for breakfast. We checked out early and went some place else. Oh, and we ended up starting our own fire. LOL

Room Tip: The Cherry Room had spiders, and you heard the people upstairs walking because you were in the basem...

Our room was very nice, the service was even better, but the only thing I would suggest is not to pre-order the candle light dinner for two. You do not get food that is any different than what is already on their menu and it ends up costing $50 more than it would cost to order off the menu. This upcharge is justified by them serving you your meal in an enclosed room that is right next to their bar and dinning room. The chef came out to our table a few times, but she was a very young girl with stains all over her shirt. It was not the professional chef they advertised on their website. I would recommend staying at this B&B, but just order the food you wish to eat when you get there.

Room Tip: loft rooms are worth the extra charge

I was looking for a quiet romantic getaway setting to propose to my girlfriend and Hideaway Country Inn was perfect. We had relaxing massages, a private 5 course dinner and the manager Snobilee was willing to capture our big moment for us. The scenery is beautiful and the staff pays attention to every detail. We had a great time.

Room Tip: The Oak room was reasonably priced with an entertaining spiral staircase.
