We had a lovely getaway in Berlin, OH last weekend and it was in no small part thanks to this beautiful B&B. We were in the Heritage suite so I cannot comment upon the breakfast, but the room was wonderful. It was beautifully decorated and clean as a whistle. We enjoyed our continental breakfast and the view of the farms in the valley below was amazing. We loved the close proximity to Berlin, too.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Lamp Light Inn Bed and Breakfast. Larry and Helen were fantastic hosts. We were the only guests staying with them at the time, but we still received wonderful service. We thoroughly enjoyed Larry's performance at breakfast, and we wish that all of our breakfasts could be as tasty as the one that Helen made for us. Our stay at the Lamp Light Bed and Breakfast was actually a gift, but we will definitely be returning. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The king sized bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed having private access to our room. The bathroom was large, with a nice sized jacuzzi and a shower as well. There was a large selection of movies at our disposal. There are plenty of local attractions, and the area is simply lovely. Thank you Larry and Helen. We had such a wonderful time in your gorgeous bed and breakfast.

The first view of the Inn while driving up to it showed the beautiful Victorian details and inviting verandas. Just the view of the Amish countryside from the front entrance was so relaxing that we couldn't wait to check in. Since we had preregistered on line, Helen, the hostess was able to check us in quickly and take us to our room.
Our room was called "Timeless Romance" and was tastefully wallpapered with a king size bed, corner fireplace, armoire with flat screen satellite TV with DVD player, and huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate shower.
We settled in for the night with a romantic DVD from the 30-40 DVD collection that were available for guests. We did partake of the free snacks that were available in the common area. The cookies tasted homemade and 7 different teas were available along with various sodas.
The next morning we came out to a fantastically prepared breakfast. The best part was host Larry serenading us with romantic tunes from his grand piano in the dining area. Wow !! Larry and Helen were great hosts and very accommodating. They allowed us to view some of the other rooms and each was beautifully decorated in different themes.
Breakfast the next morning was totally different but just as tasty and filling as the first.
All in all a fantastic 2 evenings.

The Lamplight Inn provides both comfort and elegance in a warm atmosphere provided by the Inn Keepers themselves. From the beautiful rooms and amenities to the delicious breakfasts, it is truly the best. Oh, and did I mention the "Singing Innkeeper" himself, serenading the guests at breakfast? Wonderful!

This is a great place to relax, enjoy the view, flower gardens and still be in the heart of Amish country. We received great value for the room cost including a wonderful breakfast. This is Holmes County and Amish country at its finest.

Even as we were driving to Berlin, Ohio, knowing our destination, we knew that we would be letting go of the busy-ness and stresses of the last several months. Once we entered the Inn, we sensed a gentle atmosphere, one of acceptance and caring. We were pampered immediately by the way we were greeted and given a small tour. Our room was an elegant decor of the Victorian past with the most modern amenities, complete with a king size bed, warm lighting, a fireplace, big screen TV (although seldom used), DVD player, comfortable chair, and wireless connection available. The bathroom features a jet-tub/jacuzzi with a chandelier above, as well as shower stall - all very elegantly appointed. The breakfast is one-of-a-kind with the inn-keeper serenading for about 20 minutes on the baby grand piano, accompanying himself to romantic love songs while we enjoyed a full-course, home-made breakfast featuring freshly made sausage, eggs, and breads, etc bought from the Amish country-folk. It was hard to leave, as we were refreshed and relaxed. We will be revisiting The Lamplight Inn as often as we can.

My wife and I recently stayed overnight here in Berlin, Ohio. The reservation process was accomplished completely online from the internet. We arrived shortly after the recommended 4PM hour, and was warmly greeted by Larry, the Innkeeper, at the front desk. After a short conversation, we were escorted to our room, which was nicely decorated by Larry's wife, Helen. He went over the house rules and explained how things worked in the room. Our room had a beautiful faux fireplace, which served as our main heat source. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub, as well as a full size shower stall. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were a little on the small size. There were no hangers in the closet, so most of our clothes stayed in our suitcase. During the evening hours, a plate of free cookies and purchaseable soft drinks and bottled water were made available to all guests.
The other half of 'bed and breakfast' is, of course, breakfast. Our breakfast consisted of nicely prepared scrambled eggs and thick bacon slices, along with fresh fruit and a slice of coffee cake. The innkeeper, as we learned, is a classically trained pianist. He did play a few tunes for us during breakfast, which was very enjoyable. We left soon after breakfast concluded.
