This1890's house, beautifully restored, and lovingly maintained, is a grand space with instant appeal. Porches, rooftop balconies and a private gated patio enticed us to pick a spot to sit and linger over a drink. I enjoyed a quiet cup of coffee each morning, sitting on the little rooftop perch off my bedroom. The decor is lovely, beds very comfortable and the bathrooms are enormous! The quality linens and towels are spa-like in feel. Conveniently located on the second floor landing was a Keurig with a variety of coffees and teas, a basket of assorted snacks, a jar filled with homemade cookies, and a refrigerator with drinks for early risers or late night snackers - it was like First Aid for our hunger pangs, and the wonderful host, Karen, prepared delicious breakfasts, catering to dietary requests with a smile. More than a dozen of us stayed at The Wishmaker for a weekend of "reunion-ing" with other friends in the area, and we felt like family- a royal family- thanks to the attention and hospitality Karen and the staff extended to us all. Bike trails, antique shops, street markets, and beautiful countryside vistas were within minutes of The Wishmaker, a special place that's much more than a B&B.

The Wishmaker is a must for a stay in the Bellville/Mt. Vernon/Mansfield Ohio area!
The owner and staff are friendly, professional, and attentive but not intrusive. The breakfast prepared and served each morning was delicious and very satisfying. The rooms are beautiful with exceptional bathrooms and very attractive common areas inside and outdoors--actually the website's photos don't do the inn justice--The Wishmaker is a beautiful and classy establishment. It is clear that a lot of attention was paid to the details in creating an outstanding experience for Wishmaker guests.

Thank so much for your great review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay! You are correct about the photos, it has proven difficult to capture the true beauty of the inn! We hope to see you again in the future should your travels ever bring you back to our area.

We just spent a wonderful long weekend with friends in Bellville, Ohio. We stayed at Wishmaker House Bed and Breakfast. My wife and I have stayed at many Bed and Breakfast across the nation and I have to say that Wishmaker House has to be at the very top of my list. The facility is absolutely beautiful. It is a 1800's home which has been totally and very tastefully refurbished. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. When you come down in the morning there is a buffet of breads, fruits, coffee, juice etc. when you are seated the chef comes out of the kitchen to explain the hot entrée for the morning and it is served to you with a very nice presentation. We had breakfast three mornings and each was an absolute delight.

We were there with a group of friends and we took up all but one of the rooms so we got to see them all. Every room that we saw was very nicely appointed, spacious and quiet.

I would highly recommend d Wishmaker House and we plan to stay there if we are ever in Bellville again

My wife and I stayed 2 nights after reading about this establishment some time ago. Simply beautiful and elegant. The transformation from a former furniture store to an enchanting B&B. We checked in on a Friday afternoon, met Cassie, one of the owners and she showed us around and to our room. The whole place is neat and immaculately clean. We stayed in Mike and Rosemarys room. This room gets the morning sunshine and we loved that about it. Plus we had the outside wrap around balcony we enjoyed a couple of times it has tables and chairs to relax, but it is still quite cool in Ohio to linger out there to long. The bed was comfy, fantastic linens! Snacks such as chips, crackers, nuts and fresh baked cookies plus beverages including a Keurig are on the floor where guests stay to enjoy. On Thursday thru Saturday, there is a great little evening dining spot on the main floor at the Wishmaker including a variety of their own wines to accompany the dining menu, or just to sip at the wine bar or on their patio. The have a tasty menu from what we purchased, it is smaller scale but there is something there for everyone and ask about the cheesecake. Great suggestion by our waiter Ran. Breakast of course is included and features some locally sourced products, Always tasty and a great start to each of the days we had spent here. We really enjoyed it. And there is plenty of parking around the building.

Room tip: The Mike and Rosemary room has morning sunshine nice and bright.

My friend and I spent one night at this Bed and Breakfast during a bicycle riding weekend. The whole building is beautiful and the owners are extremely helpful.

Once we checked in, they allowed us to store our (rather large) bikes in their storage area behind the building.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Soda and water as well as snacks were available in a common area on the second floor.

We had coffee and dessert in the restaurant. The menu was a bit limited for dinner, but the coffee was hot and the dessert huge.

The next morning we were treated to a gourmet breakfast sandwich.

This facility is well run and very comfortable. We will return.

Room tip: Handicapped accessible room on first floor. No elevator.
