Suburban Extended Stay Dayton-WP AFB
Ranked #5 of 5 Hotels in Beavercreek
Reviewed October 17, 2009

We moved from overseas to wright-patt and needed somewhere inexpensive to stay with 2 dogs while we found a house. One of the cheapest hotels around, with nice clean rooms, a small kitchen area (dinnerware and pots provided), tv with cable and hbo. Not only do they except pets, but its only cost $75 per stay up front and they refund $50 if nothing is damaged! Most other hotels are $10-20 a night! Service was great, the staff was always willing to help. They offer a shuttle service that I wish I had known about, only $35 to have them pick you up at the airport and bring you to the hotel! Ipaid twice that for a taxi. They will also take you other nearby locations, like rentalcar companies and the local museum. Secure, the outer doors are only accessible by key card, so I felt very safe. Located 5 minutes from mall and shopping/restaurants, across the street from Wright State University, less than 10 minutes to WP AFB. Off the main road on quiet side street. Great value for the deal! Would recommend and stay again.

The room was comfortable, clean, and sufficient for our needs. The breakfast selection is minimal and not entirely healthy choices: individually wrapped pastries, some pieces of fruit, a bowl of eggs, individual servings of cereal--more kid-like than 'adult'. The staff is courteous and helpful. We chose this location because it is centrally located to our area 'business'. The hotel policy is not to provide room cleaning until the 4th day (our departure day anyway), so fresh towels and empty trash cans are your own responsibility. Also had to ask for toilet paper before the end of the stay. But, as a repeat stay, it was expected and understood.

The motel is only a couple of years old, well lighted and very well maintained. We had a nice, spacious room that was very clean. The room had a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, two-burner cooktop, sink, microwave and coffee maker. Also included were kitchen utensils, dishes and tableware for two, as well as an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. The wireless internet service worked very well. Although we were close to freeways, very little noise penetrated the walls. The staff were all very courteous, friendly and helpful.
Remember, however, that this is an extended stay hotel, and maid service is provided only every four days, although you can ask for fresh towels, etc. at the desk at any time.
The continental breakfast was ok, but not extensive, but fresh coffee and juice is available in the lobby 24/7. The only other negative is that some extras were expensive- the washers and dryers in the laundromat were $2.00 each for a load. Also, we sometimes wished for a grab-bar in the shower/tub.

this place is not worth the stay for they lack in the following,
* No iron/ironing board
* No hairdryer
* No alarm clockS

also they are very rude and be sure to check your bill good for they will try and make you pay twice.they will even argue that you never paid or you didnt give them the right amount after you got your reciept that you did pay the righ amount the first time...
lets see what the management has to say about this one.of course he will state none of the above is true.thats his job is to make his hotel look good.but i have my receipt to show i was ripped off in beavercreek ohio.

This is brand new. Relatively large room with queen beds. Nice oak wood floor on entry then pleasant carpet. Very nice beadspreads.

I'm very fussy about cleanliness and the room is very clean.

I can only say good things about the room itself.

True it may be a little hard to find especially if you're coming from the south on I675. The other minor complaint would be that they don't provide breakfast and the price seems a little high ($101 with taxes - $78 w/o taxes).

Has refridgerator/freezer

I had a reservation at the Courtyard by Marriott 2 miles away in Fairborn, but was bumped to this hotel for reasons I can only speculate. I was in town for a conference on the base and the organizer had set aside a block of rooms for attendees at several local hotels. I was not the only person bumped to the Suburban from the Marriott and I was not the only one who was sorely disappointed.

Anyway, this hotel lacks features that I associate with ANY lodgings that cater to business travellers:
* No iron/ironing board
* No hairdryer
* No alarm clock
* NO MAID SERVICE (maid service runs every 3 days, instead of every day like at other hotels; the maid here says she heard voices inside my room and knocked on the door but since no one answered she skipped it; I haven't had a clean floor or replacement towels all week.)
* No breakfast offered
* No business center (e.g. a computer with a printer to do online checkin for flights out of Dayton airport)
* Conflicting information about what the government rate is and what I'm supposed to pay (reservation has one number; information at hotel has a different, higher number)

And this place is nearly impossible to find without explicit directions and a really good map.

I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE travelling for business and would strongly caution against it for anyone travelling for pleasure. I would expect more from a Motel 6 - at a better price! - than the Suburban in Beavercreek, OH.
