Lovely well equipped cottage great spot near local places of interest good value for money and totally separate from owners accomodation
Have just returned from a 3 night break in this cosy cottage. Set back up the drive from the main road so noise was never an issue. Everything you needed, clean and comfortable, perfect for two. Owner was friendly who gave us some advice on walking routes nearby.
Good wifi but couldn't get any signal until we drove out .
Cottage in great location. We managed to go to Bath on the way to the property and visit Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar,Ebbor Gorge/Deer Leap and the coast in the few days we were there.
Would visit again .
What a great little place to stay. B
Very comfortable and well equipped. Would definitely book again
Stayed at the apple house this past week , it was a lovely cottage well equipped and clean and cosy , beautiful countryside around .The owners are very friendly and even though they live next door they leave you to your own devices . Its central to many attraction's so good place to stay would highly recommend
Despite staying during the hottest June since 1976, suffering a bad fall and an infected insect-bite (ouch), I had a lovely two week stay here. As a solo traveller (plus dog) the cottage was ideal in size and location. It at the Bottom of the driveway, but still fairly close to the main house - which is not a problem as there is no interference from the owners.
There is a bedroom, bathroom and living room/ kitchen, which I found just right. Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave/grill/cooker, 4 hobs, toaster, kettle, slow cooker, fridge, dish washer (which I never used) and washing machine. Cutlery and plates, etc were all good quality. It is not massive, but is a perfect size for a holiday cottage.
TV has free channels and there is a dvd player and radio.
Bathroom is wet room-type set up, so no steps into shower.
Everything worked well and seemed robust.
Westbury is a good area to be based, between Cheddar and Wells, and on the edge of the Mendips. Lots of places to visit, but I really recommend time spent in the Mendips, which was beautiful. Do admire the views from Deer Leap, and explore Ebbor Gorge. The pub opposite looks good, but I also found The Queen Victoria at Priddy, and The Crown at Churchill both excellent. Chew Valley Reservoir area is beautiful, and there re several local farm shops which sells local meats, cheese and vegetable, and often have tea rooms.
Westbury is easily placed for Wells, Glastonbury, the coast and Bristol.
Lovely stay in a well equipped and charming Apple Barn. Comfortable bed, cosy accommodation, clean and a great base in a good location. Would recommend and hope to stay again. Friendly owner and locals a very enjoyable weeks holiday.
