“Shockingly Great Hotel”
Reviewed September 12, 2008

Shocked because we (my wife and I) expected far less than we received. This hotel is incredibly well designed and managed. The customer service attributes are simply over the top. While we have morphed into Four Seasons/Peninsula-type travelers (Lord!), this was a family visit (funeral) and we just wanted good, clean and servicable. Instead, we got the Four Seasons treatment from wonderful front desk staff and a king suite that included a wonderful bed, a kitchenette (unnecessary, but a nice touch), and thoroughly a -- dare I say it -- romantic ambiance. This is a Hampton, right? The lobby was a drop dead gorgeous design and comfortable ambiance, with a breakfast setup (included in rate) that was perfect for our minimalist needs. While we have stayed in several Cleveland hotels over the years, this is where we will return in the future. Corky and Lenny's deli (read: matzo ball soup and corned beef sandwiches) is just down the street, and if we wanted to take the fullest advantage of the kitchenette a Whole Foods is just as close. Many casual dining chains in the immediate proximity ensures that no wants or needs go unsatisfied. Just a great stay and experience. And all for $149/night. Insane!

  • Liked — The customer service attributes, including front desk personnel and the ambiance
  • Disliked — Absolutely nothing. Everything was far better than expected.

Hotel per staff is 4 years old. The room I had looked brand new (carpet, furniture, bathroom, etc). The bed was as comfortable as the Hilton, Westin, etc dream bed. The staff of the hotel were extremely friendly and went out of their way with guests to make them feel at home. The only negative is no bar, but Bahama Breeze is next door.

In the end one of the best hotel experiences I have in a LONG time.

I wasn't expecting much from the Hampton Inn just outside of Cleveland. I went with a group of business colleagues and we weren't planning to spend much time in the hotel anyway.

Well, I had an upgraded room (with a wet bar, microwave and fridge), but the best part was the BED. It was the most comfortable bed I have slept in in a hotel in a long time. And the bedding! Not what you'd expect from a budget chain hotel. It was ALL WHITE (which is nice because it doesn't cover stains, so you know these are washed frequently). The bedspread is a duvet which is very comfy. And they had 6 pillows to choose from on my bed--which was a plus since I am so picky.

The breakfast was good, especially for a free breakfast. The lobby area is nice, with a fireplace and a big-screen TV. The front desk personnel were very helpful. The location is good because there are numerous restaurants in the vicinity (within walking distance) if you don't want to drive to eat.

But I have to say, if you're thinking about staying somewhere nearby... stay here instead, if only for... say it with me now... the bed!

  • Liked — THE BED!
  • Disliked — It was quite a drive away from downtown Cleveland.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel in Beachwood, Ohio and were very please and delighted at the service and accommodations. The room was very clean and the free breakfast was good and plenty. The staff was very helpful and answered any and every question immediately. The hotel has everything one needs while traveling away from home. A great business center with two computers, printer, fax, etc. An ATM machine and snack shop off the lobby. We were very pleased and would stay there again. Highly recommended.

Our daughter goes to Case and I needed a place to stay after driving her and her belongings to school. I did not need to be downtown so I chose this hotel, that is part of the "Beachwood Strip" of hotels and chain restaurants on Orange Avenue. As one who travels a lot, I appreciated how friendly and helpful the staff was. The room was recently renovated, and the free breakfast had hot options along with the usual selection. Unlike the downtown hotels it has free parking and free internet, and I felt safe walking next store to grab dinner. When the Glidden House (which is right on campus) is full, this is our new Cleveland stop. If you have a car and do not need to be downtown, this is your place.

We often stay at Hampton Inns so when we were looking for something on the east side of Cleveland, we logged into their website. I also checked the reviews from trip advisor and found that this hotel got very good reviews. And they were right!! I took the advice of one review and booked on the opposite side of the hotel from the expressway. It was quiet and I remember remarking that it seemed like we were the only ones in the hotel. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Nice fluffy comforters on the bed. Breakfast was great - practically anything you would want, plus those wonderful cinnamon biscuits with drizzled frosting! It was easy to get around and there were a number of restaurants close by. We ended up at a place called Legacy Village which is north on Richmond Rd (about 10 min away). There's a large upscale mall on one corner and Legacy Village on the other. There are a number of restaurants and small shops. We ate at the California Pizza Kitchen and also The Cheesecake Factory -- both very good. This place would be hopping in the summer; it was a little cool when we were there but walked around and visited the shops after dinner. All in all, was a great stay.

This is a nice and clean hotel. The beds and all linens were comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. It was kept clean and constantly refilled. The pool and hot tub area were nice. We stayed in a Double Queen Suite and loved the room. We didn't hear any outside noise while in the room. There are restaurants near the hotel, including Bahama Breeze (next door), Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and Red Robin along with some others. I would definitely stay here again.
