“Convivial host”
Reviewed October 10, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

When one stays at a B&B it's essential to have a convivial host - this is Vasco (otherwise "sam" or "Q")- A Frenchman with perfect English, he made our stay most enjoyable, cooked us a fine dinner with wine and was an interesting conversationalist. Our accommodation was clean and well presented typically rustic and full of charm. The house is quite rural in a tiny hamlet but easily driveable to dine out at night and convenient for chateaux and other attractions nearby. There's no doubt we shall return.

“A bit remote but still a lovely stay”
Reviewed May 17, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

The experience started out a bit uncertain, as when I called Vasco to ask if we could come at around 2 pm on the date of our arrival, and he strongly explained that the house was his residence and therefore we could only arrive at 6pm and needed to be out at 10 the following morning. This was a bit unsettling as we had been travelling as a family through France and were used to a vacation rental experience which allowed us to come and go as we pleased. Trip advisor has the house listed as a vacation rental, but the description Vasco uses for the house is a "Loire valley B&B". Vasco later on explained clearly that a B&B really is just a bed and a breakfast and different from a vacation rental in that he is not at home all day to tend to us coming and going, which made perfect sense. With all that there is to see nearby, we really ended up with early mornings and late afternoons which suited this arrangement perfectly.
I travelled with my 7 children and my wife, and so the 9 of us occupied the entire house. To say that the B&B is remote is an understatement. You will not come across any cars in the last 10 minutes drive, and you will wonder wether you are on the right track. But surprisingly when you head out to Chenonseaux the next day it is just a 15 minute drive down amazing countryside. Dinner is a choice of two restaurants in a town about 15 mins away as well. Our family enjoyed both dinners we had in town at theses 2 places.
The 3 rooms are all on the 2nd floor and are of a good size, tastefully designed with lovely details and in wonderful colors. Vasco prepared a nice breakfast with artisan breads and homemade jams. His table settings were so homey, and tasteful because he used real heirloom pieces such as his orange juice in an antique decanter and his french pressed coffee kept warm by a cute rooster mitten like cover. The kids enjoyed Vasco's dog, Toons as well.
All in al the family had a great stay, thank you Vasco :-)

“Great country side bed and breakfast”

This was a lovely spot to stay in the country away from the tourist crowds of the Loire Valley. It is only 15 minutes away from the chateau Chenonceau and 30 minutes from Amboise, so close enough to enjoy the sites, but nice to go back to a quiet night. It is not air conditioned, but has nice cross ventilation with windows. It was comfortable and the host was friendly and helpful and spoke English as well. He provided a generous French breakfast with hot beverages, fresh fruit, juice fresh pastries and bread and homemade jams from locally grown fruit. The website did have a good local map and we had GPS which helped us locate it.

Management Response
Jun 23, 2014
The rural surroundings of my bed and breakfast guarantee a peaceful and authentic setting for visitors to this region.
Many outstanding Loire Valley Chateaux are barely half an hour away but DO require a car as the location is in the heart of the country.
(a pre-requisite most visitors expect!)
