The hotel was in a great location. Great price, about $60/ night. There were some updates done to the room, new tile, counter top, toilet, bed spreads. The carpet and pictures were old. No Big Deal!! The room was clean, some of the "spring cleaning" things were overlooked, like visible dust on the tops of the outlet covers, hair dryer cord was really dirty, but I don't use the blow dryer. The beds were very comfortable!
The front desk staff was very friendly, we showed up quite late with no reservation.
The breakfast was good; I especially like the "make your own" waffles, besides that, nothing too impressive, but it is complimentary and the price per night is low. We will be back!

Ienjoyed all the new updates in the hotel.. New tile, bed spreads and curtains. the carpet was refreshing in the bedrooms.. The overall is great, and a pleasure to stay. Front Desk is much more attractive,
Thanks for a great nite there.

It was difficult to find the parking lot entrance to this hotel.
We requested a main floor, fragrance and pet free room because of allergy and mobility issues. Our special requests were ignored, with no advance notice. Male staff who checked us in simply said "we have no main floor rooms." As we trudged up to 2nd floor with our luggage, we saw that some main floor rooms were being renovated/repainted. Hallway and our room were HIGHLY fragranced. Back outside door and our room door did not automatically close properly.
We called front desk to remind them we wanted scent-free room. Friendly female staff apologized, and said all rooms are sprayed as part of the cleaning process. Male staff in the background said something about fresh paint. She suggested we leave the window open to air the room out. Outside temp was between -15 and -20 Celsius, and we froze for a few hours with outerwear on while the room aired out. We did not have the room cleaned between nights so that we could avoid more fragrance issues - just got new towels and extra blankets. Cleaning staff were speaking loudly to each other in the hallway, so were easy to find.
Beds are quite high off the floor, even for tall persons. I'm 5'8", and had to boost myself up onto the bed.
Temperature and sound insulation issues: We could hear our neighbours quite well. Outside wall/window was drafty/cold. Sitting at the desk near that wall? Wear a sweater/coat and slippers if you've got them. I slept in the bed near that wall, and shivered the whole first night, even with thermostat turned up. Couldn't reach front desk staff after 10 pm to get more blankets. Got 2 extra blankets (with holes/cigarette burns, but clean) from cleaning staff next day, and was barely warm enough the second night - my friend was cold that night, even with her extra blankets from home.
Bathroom layout cramped and awkward, with both bathroom and main room doors opening into the area in front of the sink.
Light fixture fell off wall - we fixed it. Blow dryer did not work - we left a note, and had our own.
Positives: AAA rate reasonable. Breakfast included waffles and boiled eggs. Recently updated room: paint, flooring, TV, fridge, microwave, bedspread. 4 fluffy pillows per bed. Free wifi, of adequate speed.

We stayed here on our way to Minneapolis and I must say for a quick stopover it was well worth it. $50 on a Friday night! The rooms were very clean and looked like they were just renovated. There is a continental breakfast. I would recommend it to people for a quick stay.
