Called in on Mothers day before a trip on the railway. Ordered 2 pies the "gentleman" was rude, impatient, and was happy just to get your money in his hand and move on to the next person.... the pies and coffee were cold.
Best leave the "gentleman" out the back.
The shop was very well renovated, the only good thing about going in there.
I never leave negative feedback preferring not to recommend a bad experience verbally, but this start to the day really spoilt it.

It’s worth going into Emily’s to look at how the modern bakery has blended into the old world charm of an old country store. We enjoyed our bakery items and would return.

Located in an old emporium, this cafe still has an in situ 'flying fox' once used for cash sales, as well as the original polished wooden shelves full of old wares. The coffee was excellent and the buns were good - lucky we called in when the baker was there! .

The food order was taken in good time and the food was delivered in reasonable time. The menu range was not large, but the courses offered covered the normal meat dishes. The staff were very friendly. The venue used to be an emporium and the furnishings were still there including the old fashioned cashier delivery system. Of course they use modern cash payment systems for payment.

We went there after reading TA reviews and it did not dissappoint us. We had a very tasty homemade soup accompanied by delicious rolls (sauvory scones?). It was followed by yummy cheescakes and very good coffee.
