“Left a Sour Impression”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

Myself and my family which consisted of my husband, my sister and our respective children (3 girls aged 13, 6 and 4) have recently had the displeasure of staying at this park. The booking process was fantastic and made me think we were going to be hosted by a lovely couple. How wrong I turned out to be.
Our kids were obviously not welcome due to the comment made regarding keeping them out of the 'garden' which was a hardy native garden consisting mainly of what looked like saltbush!!
But, what has really left the sour taste in my mouth and the various family members I have since told is the very rude treatment we received on check out day. Checkout is 10:00am and by 10:10am when we hadn't checked out the male lessee of the park came to give us the hurry on. We were actually almost packed and ready to go at this point. Not 5 minutes later the female lessee came and approached us asking the same question (in what can only be described as disgusting behavior from someone in a tourist industry). I wouldn't talk to my dog in that manor. When we replied that her husband had been by 5 minutes ago and we were nearly done we were then told we needed to hurry as she was paying clears 'double time' to be there, little did she know we had a 4 year old that had been vomiting all morning and were busy cleaning this up so her cleaners didn't have too. To which she responded "you could have come and let us know" again in a disgusting tone. Because that's really what's on your mind when you have a vomiting child.
Oh, and the comment under her breath after having a go at the people in the cabin next door (who were actually family too) about regretting the wedding we we in fact in Quorn to attend ever coming to town. Great way to make visitors to you town feel welcome.
Needless to say we will not be recommending a stay at this facility to anyone travelling to Quorn that is until the managers of the park learn Customer Service or leave. We actually saw a variety if accommodation in the area due to knowing a number of people attending the wedding so my one piece of advice would be shop around I saw better venues for similar prices!!

Thanks for taking the time to write with impressions of your stay with us and your positive comments. Although we usually deliver high levels of customer care, at the time of your departure, we did fall short of our usual standard.
For us, the day had the makings of a ‘perfect storm’ with competing priorities. Knowing we would be short staffed and committed, as volunteer tourism operators to a book launch, we had a tight deadline. We were prepared for a challenging and busy day.
We can usually work around a late departure, particularly when notified. Ready to begin cleaning cabins at 10 am, I admit to having becoming agitated when three cabins containing wedding guests had not vacated. At 10.15, Gary checked and had to rouse sleeping guests from two cabins. Gary enquired and then informed me that your cabin would vacate in about 10-15 minutes. We were unaware at that time that your child was unwell. Had we known, we would not have again enquired as to your progress. I sincerely apologise if my tone was less than courteous or friendly; this is not to our usual standard of professional care.
We welcome families. In a semi-arid area, it’s a challenge to maintain attractive native gardens. We love our endemic gardens and become dismayed when nurtured plants (seen and unseen) are damaged.
For visitors to Quorn, we have a wide range of accommodation. Visit the Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre’s website for further information.

This is a simple campground in Quorn run by some truly neat people. The facilities are simple but top notch, great kitchen including a place to wash up, plenty of toilet facilities, place for campfires, and even a fantastic DVD library. Bronwyn and Gary are excellent hosts and really try to make your stay a happy one.

Waking to the sounds of Magpies warbling, Galahs screeching, was music to my ears. We had made our reservations for the caravan park over six months ago. How lucky were we? As everyone has written, the warm friendly welcome on arrival, was just the start to a wonderful few days in Quorn. We have stayed in many similar cabin type accommodation in our travels, usually having to go out to buy tea towels, dish cloths,or other sundry items, but not here. Everything the traveler could need was there. This is the first place my wife found "Everything we need is here."
Our cabin was one of the two older cabins, but the location was perfect, everything within was spotless. Top marks Bron and Gary.
My heart went out to those "Fly-by-nighters in their big rigs who only stayed overnight, and off into the sunset. Stay in town longer to enjoy what this tidy interesting town has to offer. Garry and Bron know the area inside out, so can give you all the advice you need.
My advice: If you don't like flies, (Summer pests) bring a fly net to cover your face. Driving: take it easy on the dirt roads. Some 4WD owners should take heed of this.
Further advice: Don't hang back get up there to Quorn and meet Bron and Garry.

Thanks! What a great review!
Before I go further, I might just mention to future guests that we've had a pretty bad fly season this year - it's the first time I've worn a fly net when I'm gardening - hopefully next year will be better - but - if it means rain and flies, then I think we'll have to take the flies along with the rain!
It's been an exceptional year in the Flinders because of the good rains. We've had a spurt of growth in all respects - the Red Gums have had a good drink, the dam next door has been full of water, bringing in a new family of ducks, new families of kookaburras, white-faced herons and more birds than usual.
We're so happy to have been able to provide clean, comfortable accommodation - and yes, Quorn is a wonderful town and community.
Thanks for your generous contribution. Very much appreciated.
Kind regards, Bronwyn

We happened on Quorn on the Labor Day weekend - what a gem of a caravan park! Last night was full up yet we had no sense of overcrowding or the place suffering from overuse. Bronwen and Gary give more than they need because they care: about their environment, the service, cleanliness. Even in this drought-ridden arid climate many species of local flora have been planted and flourish. Loved the scent of wattle by our unpowered campsite, and the huge river red gums in the adjacent creekbed. The amenities are superb: a separate lounge area, excellent kitchen, baby and disabilty bathrooms, eco-friendly laundry. One of the best stays round the half the country we've seen.

Thanks for your review - we were delighted to have you stay - and thanks to both you and K for positive comments regarding the cleanliness and amenities of the park.
You made an impression on housekeeping staff with your friendly nature and when I read this review to staff, we all made comment on the great pair of pants you were wearing on the day you left - purple and green - great Flinders colours!
Thanks again - it means a lot to us to have the time to talk to like-minded guests on such a busy weekend and to have you stay.

Quorn Caravan Park forms one of our regular stops when travelling through Flinder's Ranges area with our camper trailer. Helpful management (Bronwyn & Gary) enhances each experience there, with alternative suggestions on things to do and places to see also always ready to assist where possible. Park is always clean and tidy, love the ambiance of the place, large gum trees, wild life, etc. Heritage train town with good range of food alternatives, variety of shops and good coffee options. Clean facilities, nice camp kitchen. A good number of on-site cabins should that be preferred or needed. A nice, welcoming place.

Eco friendly caravan park in sleepy Quorn. The owners were friendly and helpful. Excellent amenities (toilets and showers very clean). Walking distance to local pubs and main street. This is a smaller park, with charm. Perfect for time out from bigger caravan parks.

Thanks for your review of our 10-acre park! We clean and garden naturally. We're finding more and more appreciative guests. It's close proximity to town but with a bush feel, makes it popular with guests. Yes, we agree that it's wonderful to support smaller parks in smaller towns.
Kind regards, Bronwyn
