Recently I retired from a rather stressful job.
A colleague had changed jobs a year earlier and we needed to catch up for lunch with our respective spouses to review life and circumstances.
The Flying Fish is located on a fantastic beach front location and the architecture is still suitable for the locale.
We all met up on a Tuesday for a seafood delight.

After a dips starter we headed out to sea.
The white wine was the Shaw and Smith Sav Blanc. Typically superb.
Our guests were ready to chow down on the Seafood platter for two - generous and scrumptious
My lady had the grilled Garfish - an all time fave
I tucked into the Pale ale battered King George Whiting - consist and generous in serving.
The accompanying chips were fantastic.

The food and the location is a treat as was going to the shoreline at Port Elliot when you were a kid on holidays.

I have been to the Flying Fish many times over the years and its always been very good. Recently it changed hands but the service and the food have become even better. The new menu
has a great choice and the seafood on the menu is so fresh.
They also have an excellent choice of wines at reasonable prices.
I WILL be back again & again, I just love the view over the ocean and the food.

A nice little cove on the south coast, just next to Victor Harbour. This cafe can be quite busy on a warm day, as it was when we went. The ice creams are very nice indeed to cool you down and the size is very good as well.

In the Summer, have a dip in the bay while you are there. It is a lot calmer than the open beaches.

My partner and i have been here several times and it's never been disappointing! The views looking out towards the ocean are beautiful, service was great and the food always a winner. It does get very busy especially on the warmer days, as you can imagine but it's so worth while to take a trip down here even if you can't get a seat you can easily walk to the beach or find a lovely spot on the grass area! Keep up with the fantastic work Flying Fish ;)

Had lunch on a Saturday. Service was good, food was excellent, view magnificent. Don't expect a cheap lunch. Mains averaging around $35. Nice for a special occasion or if you feel like a splurge.
