Description: Phone / Fax 08 8554 2475 Port Elliot Bakery has been in continuous operation for over 100 years and has the original wood fired ovens out the back. Lots of different treats can be found at the popular bakery from rich meaty pies, flaky vegie pasties to berlinas bursting with jam. To drive past is to miss out on one of SA's culinary delights. If I did I would be the size of a barn, the bakery is unbelievable. Their cheese and veggie pasties are to die for, in fact there is nothing they make I don't like. Life is just not long enough to enjoy their amazing array of both savoury and sweet treats. Be warned in summer the line stretches along the street but their cheerful staff are well trained in crowd control and the wait is well worth it. The best bakery I have experienced, and I have participated at a few,

Dropped in for lunch on a Saturday and the place was packed with customers. No problems though as there were plenty of staff serving and we got our food quickly. The pies and pasties are very nice but I couldn't resist the blueberry scrolls, they were magnificent.

On my annual holiday to Port Elliot, it was very pleasing to see that this gem had lost none of its appeal & had maintained the high standards we have come to take for granted. There at opening time each day (timed to the minute on the morning walk), to be met by smiling faces and good service was a delight. The food is not bad either. Whatever your taste, it is there waiting for you. Definitely a great way to start the day.

Near to the beach so plenty of hearty appetites being appeased with the delights in this bakery. The honey logs and jam rolls were delicious and we can only dream about the legendary vanilla slices that we went there to buy,

No real bread loafs only hot food. Sausage roll was rubbery and repeated on me all day. Long line up if you are in a hurry.
