We often grab a pizza from here on our way home from Adelaide and it's well worth the stop in on the freeway. The service is always prompt, even when they are busy and it's always delicios!

Seafood pasta? Think I'd have a lot better at the local primary school. It's definitely where the manager ought to go to learn the basics of business and customer relations. Without a doubt the worst Italian we've visited....but go if you like cold food, meagre rations and a dish completely different to what it says in the menu, all served up by courteous staff apart from the manager

I like the new look at Giovanni. The new makeover has turned it into an exciting dinning venue.

The pizza menu is the same but the ala carte menu is new and offers a variety of seafood, meat, vegetarian and pasta dishes. My seafood pasta was fresh, delicious and pasta cooked al dente. The seafood used were calamari and squid and cooked perfectly.

The wine list is extensive with a wide range of local and international wines. Wines can be purchased by the glasses at $10 per glass. There is no 'wine by the glass menu'. The waiter told us the selection changes each day. I didn't see the selection on offer but I thought $10 a glass is a bit pricey. BYO is allowed and corkage is $15 per bottles.

The waiters were efficient and there is a nice atmosphere. We will visit again.

Embarrassed to say that those ARE tongue marks on my plate ... The sirloin was perfect, as was the jus and the crispy fried polenta tumbled with sea salt and fresh rosemary ... Poifect!!!

We had given up on dear old Giovanni's as it had slipped into a terrible decline but heard it had new owners so we went after the picutres the other night. Nine o'clock on a Tuesday and they had 25 diners and were willing to serve us. The place has ahd a much needed internal makeover and the kitchen a bloody good scrubbing. The take away pizza menu is still the same but the a la carte has a total new look.

The food is simple and rustic in its approach but the dishes sound exiting. For Entree we had fried polenta on a basil and tomato salad and and broad bean and mint bruschetta both of which were excellent. Mains were a mulloway and blue swimmer crab ravioli for me (the ravioli was a bit tough and not at its best but the fish was superb) and a scallop and stuffed pork fillet. The fillet had been stuffed with shreadded meat (not unlike a duck rillette) and was excellent, but the scallops were a little rubbery - partially due to the chat we had with the owner for 10 minutes while our food went cold in front of us after we had been served.

The food shows enormous potential and I am sure they will get the kinks worked out. The owners and staff are monumentally enthusiastic. The wine list (when it gets typed up) will be very very good. A new light for dining out in the Adelaide Hills? We hope so....
