Description: Woodstock Coterie, built in 1988, was designed to nestle among the towering century old gum trees. The design took into consideration the location of each of these amazing native trees. Not one significant tree was cut down to accommodate building the restaurant. Hence, the Coterie's unique semicircle shape. Rammed earth walls encase the dining area, providing a warm feel and at the same time complementing The Coterie's unique quintessentially Australian landscape. Glass doors and windows frame the lush native gardens creating an atrium feel for the discerning patron. Upstairs there is a mezzanine level available for private tastings, conferences and functions. The name 'Coterie' was chosen for the word's meaning; the gathering of a group of people, or rather a circle of friends, for a specific purpose... that for us includes great food, good company and finest wines at Woodstock

“Great pork belly”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

Great pork belly dish. And berry souffle was a first for us which was incredibly sweet but intersting with white chocolate used instead of usual milk or dark chocolate. Their cellar door was great to experience dessert wines. Live music, great terrace area and sound of nature all made the dining experience more enjoyable.

“Nice setting and good food”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

I went for lunch here after driving around the McLarne Vale. We were pointed to our seats outside rather than taken there, resulting us sitting at the wrong table and having to be moved (even though no one sat at the original table during the duration of our lunch). We had a nice view out into the gardens and it was a nice spot to enjoy lunch. We had taken the dogs with us and the restaurant allowed them to sit outside with us. The food was good, as was the wine, however the service was a bit sluggish and it was obvious that the 2 young and relatively inexperienced waitresses were busy looking after all of the other tables. Probably overpriced overall and there are probably nicer places to eat lunch in the area.

“A bit forgotten”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

The grounds are very pretty and we picked the place because it had a children's playground. However, we were tucked off to the side and then forgotten. We had to get the waitstaff's attention to order. No one told us the special of the day or that they had a children's menu. We obviously had two children with us and it wasn't until we'd ordered and then saw a table next to us (who had come in AFTER us) with children eating chicken nuggets did we realise there was even a kids menu. It was too late to change our order. No one came back to ask if we wanted more wine or to check if there was anything else that we would like. We left after eating our main, to be further disappointed that the native animal habitat was empty and closed. The only positive was that the rose was very nice.

“Yum ....a great place for a late sunday lunch”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Got there about 2:30pm after a late sunday start.
We were seated quite quickly in the restarant with the 2 pc band. My husband asked if we could move outside. The waitress was very accomodating.
My hubby had the duck breast & I had the Crispy Pork belly with scallops. We also ordered a side of 'thick cut chips' with Aioli
Service was fast (maybe as nearly everyone else was finished & on desserts when we arrived). The meals were yummy apart from the chips.
Not worth the $10 ...my hubby said the tasted like yesterdays rejects.
A good find for a late lunch.
