Great front of house. Rooms are tidy but not clean, lots of cobweb. No sheers on windows, poor privacy. Great food at restaurant. Beds are the worst I have slept on for many years. Only one filtered water fountain shared between all rooms in shared laundry. Two stars. Lots of potential, amateurish management. Would not recommend.

The grounds are beautiful but the rooms and ordinary and insects kept getting in despite fly-screens. The dinner was great as was the breakfast hamper. The old couple in the room next door fell asleep with their TV turned right up and we could hear it clearly through the thin walls so we had to try to wake them up. There was no one at reception to help us by this time and the oldies couldn't hear their phone ringing over the TV so we had to knock on their door very loudly to wake them up. Annoying!!

We chose this property for an overnight stay. Whilst the grounds are very attractive, the accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. The floor was dirty when we checked in and the walls desperately need patching and re-painting.
Dinner, which was included in the package was very good and the breakfast hamper delivered to our room next morning was very good.
I think this property (accommodation wise) have self rated at 4 stars, in our opinion, scratching to make a 3.
Staff were friendly and very helpful.

For the price, we couldn't fault this motel style accomodation. The kitchenette is useful for pulling together a breakfast or lunch and the fridge is handy. Rooms are large, if a little dated in decor (except for 32" LCD). Restaurant nice. Nice grounds and a great walking track alongside the hotel that goes all around the area and past vineyards, worth packing your trainers if the weather is good. Location is very central, 5 min drive to McLaren Vale village (where everything shuts at 5.30pm by the way, even Coles, be prepared). Visit Primo Estate winery and do their premium wine and cheese tasting for $15, bargain and wonderful! Visit Coriole for an amazing local produce tasting plate for two (or more..) packed with cheese, local made charchuterie, olives, fresh breads and kangaroo - highlight of the trip. Rolling hills of McLaren Vale a real surprising treat. This hotel is bang in the middle, and good value for money - just don't expect too many frills.

We only visited the restaurant here, although the grounds looked very nice. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The service was very prompt and we found it to be a relatively quiet restaurant good for a romantic dinner (i.e. you didn't have to shout to be heard). The mains were nice, particularly the beef fillet, but it was the chocolate brownie dessert that won me over - yum! My only advice would be not to sit near the entrance to the restaurant as you get a cold breeze everytime someone opens the outside door to reception, though this didn't happen often.

Recently stayed overnight to celebrate my birthday with a few close friends.. I booked 5 rooms for us 5 couples. We had a wonderful enjoyable and relaxing stay.. the surroundings were beautiful and serene... pool was a great hit with all of us not wanting to get out!! Dinner was absolutely delish!!! All 10 of us really enjoyed our entree & mains! Cellar doors next door which helped pick out wines to try at dinner during our wine tasting. The next morning we finished of our stay with a cooked breakfast in the restaurant.. We are all talking about coming back in a year! ps...You will need to keep room door closed, as there are plenty of bugs out in the country!
