Owner description: The idea to build the d'Arenberg Cube came to Chief Winemaker Chester Osborn in 2003. Inspired by the complexities and puzzles of winemaking, Chester created the idea of a cube-shaped building. Each of the five levels have been carefully designed to entice and excite the senses, including features such as a wine inhalation room, a virtual fermenter, a 360degree video room, and many other tactile experiences. Visitors are encouraged to explore the Alternate Realities Museum, located on the ground floor, and view the many art installations on display. The Cellar Door is located on the top floor, and is open for tastings 7 days a week 10am - 5pm

Just love visiting this winery. Probably the broadest range of red's in the district and a great cellar doorset up. Love the wines, love the names and the cellar door staff are very friendly and helpful. A group of us did a bench blending session in Feb this year and it was great making our own blends on the 'Dead Arm' shiraz. I have since drunk mine and it was excellent, we will be back next year for the wine, the food and of course our 2nd go at being wine makers

We always visit this winery while in Adelaide and have never been disappointed. The selection of good quality wine to try is great and the staff are very knowledgable and friendly. I'd also highly recommend D'arrys restaurant which serves wonderful food.

We had a lovely leisurely lunch at the restaurant. This is definitely worth a long and tedious drive from Adelaide.

We were priveleged to spend over an hour blending our perfect shiraz from wines from specific dÁrenberg vineyards which showed different characteristics of terroir and age of vines. The old stables are such a lovely venue for the blending bench and you could spend hours reading the history and looking at soil core samples to learn how this effects the flavours of the grapes. You even get to bottle and label your own wine to take home with you.
The cellar door is perched on a ridge overlooking the McLaren Vale township with views to the hills. The world renowned wines are introduced to you by passionate cellar door staff. Unfortunately the venue's popularity is also its downfall and it is usually crowded and is best visited early to be able to absorb the wines and their descriptions shared by the staff. Be sure to also visit dArry's Verandah for a magnificent dining experience while you are there but this will need to be booked early. We couldn't fault the food or the service on our last of many visits

Had very pleasant time tasting and learning about the wines in the region. Thanks Barry for the insight into an often confusing subject.
