Stunning setting for a meal, myself and my partner love rustic settings and this fitted the bill.
The Entrée Scallops with a corn puree and florets of cauliflower were superb as was my partners Asparagus with egg. For a main we shared a large piece of Wagyu beef in its own Jus with duck fat cooked roast potatoes, it was cooked to perfection, followed by a Baileys for me and a Frangelico and coffee the missus. What made it was the service, it was superb! Very attentive but not hovering over you, a bit more expensive than some but well and truly worth it, we will return, no question, and ASAP

Beautiful setting amongst the vines and trees, plenty of space for the kids to run free. Outstanding meal, fresh, great infusion of flavours, elegantly presented and friendly service from staff who know their food. Higher price range but well worth the expense for exquisite cuisine.
What a gem.

The brochure states 'McLaren Vale's best kept secret' however with all the positive reviews on the restaurant, it won't be a secret for long. It is a little out of McLaren Vale itself but well worth the trip. The food, service and setting were all excellent. Lovely view of the fruit trees - their fruit used in much of the cooking. Totally recommend a visit!

With a view of beautiful autumnal McLaren Vale vineyards, a crimson glory vine-covered arbour and a lemon grove, it's hard not to be won over by The Currant Shed. The interior space is typical of Adelaide's wine regions, a sympathetically converted rustic space that is cosy in the chill but can be opened up in the summer months. The food is in keeping with the local vibe, with hearty seasonal flavours on offer.

The dips and crudites platter was generous and the charcuterie selection was nice, although the meats were not the most flavoursome I've ever encountered. When it came to mains, there were so many appealing options that I found it difficult to chose, but finally settled on one of the specials, snapper in saffron broth, which was delicately delicious, even if slightly underseasoned. Dessert was my favourite dish- a perfectly tart passionfruit pudding that was so light it could have been mistaken for a souffle. On the whole, everyone around the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

Service was a touch casual, but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere relaxed, so I found myself being forgiving. The Currant Shed is a gorgeous place, ideal for a slow lunch, and I look forward to returning so I can sample more of their menu.
