The one and only German town in Australia with this exceptional quality German food which is so addictive, whenever there is an occasion, I will choose this restaurant as my first choice, good service, good atmosphere, price is expensive but you get what you paid for.

Looking at the amount of food they serve, expect to pay up to $100 elsewhere for the similar quality. Wouldn't mind driving a long way, each trip is worth it!

Popped in here for lunch while visiting Hahndorf and the surrounding areas, and am glad I did. While the town itself doesn't look very Germanic, this place is very well done up. It has German flags, Munchen apparel, and of course, 1 Litre beer glasses. I had a pork chop with German potatoes, and it was delicious. Best Pork Chop i'v had in my life, and the beer I washed it down with was very nice too. Would recommend it to anyone passing through. Aside from the price, which was pretty steep, it's a great place to eat/drink/relax.

Food good, but quite expensive, also the wine and beers ( $11.20 for a glass of house Riesling, $14 for a 500ml mug of German beer). Also very noisy due to several coach loads of tourists.

As a local resident thought we would try this for a family dinner mid week. We were looking for no more than a fair feed to carry us over whilst our kitchen is being renovated, but even our fairly modest expectations greatly exceeded the ability of this establishment to deliver.

After waiting 50 minutes for food to arrive when it did it was ghastly.

The pasta of the day was half a bucket of Penne littered with what appeared to be anything that was hanging around the fridge after the weekend. The sauce was some sort of commercially pre-processed slime and the serving size would fill a handbasin. Clearly they wanted to get rid of the stuff ...and quickly.

The Thai Chicken Salad contained salad...and chicken (a great dry lump of breast cut in half) and I am sure that the bottle the sauce came out of had Thai written on it somewhere...enough said.

My son and I had Schnitzels - chicken and beef - as part of a growing father/son pub meal bonding ceremony...or at least we had a few bites of our schnitzels. Thick, dry, overcooked with the crumbs immediately departing company with the meat and paired with a small sad bowl of salad, again with a liberal dosing of some kind of all purpose lubricant.

When a young lad can’t polish off his schnitzel you know there is something wrong!

Within 5 minutes we had wrapped up what meaty leftovers we could salvage and gone home.

At least the dogs ate well that night.

We should have gone to the fish shop across the road, which is half the price and excellent quality…or better still the new Beelahs café which is run by actual chefs as opposed to people who open cans and warm things up!

This is the fourth time we have visited Hahnodorf Inn, it look the same the staff are so helpful and friendly although it is very busy. The upfront of the Hahnodorf Inn is go to the counter to order but other part is table service.
The food are great and big such as “Six star sausage combination, A taste of germany platter ~~~~~~” each can for three people to share. The beer and food is tasty and is in very reasonable portions.
