On a cold, wet day we stopped for lunch and were seated right next to the warming fire. Nice place to be. We both chose the lunchtime fish special which was fresh and filling. Service was slow and as we were the last two remaining customers at the end of lunch we were forgotten for a while and had to find the staff to request coffees. This would not stop me from visiting again and certainly will next time we are in Goolwa.

i live in melbourne and while travelling for work in Adelaide i took my mother to the Whistle Stop Cafe. She was stopping over at Goolwa on her way to WA on her firts Caravan trip with my step father. They found this place during the day and i drove in from Adelaide to take them out for mother day. Fantastic food (Step father had the steak and couldnt stop talking about how good it was, and he is extremly fussy), i had the Chicken Ranch burger which was A1.The service was exceallant, charming place which was relaxing.

Have been here before hand and found it ok,but there again today and must say not as welcoming as last time.Like one person said I felt like we were impossing being there.Although not even crowded today We both .sat outside which was good for a change too.I found the coffee very strong and could not finish it,although they had a very small choice of cake and biscuits.I must say that it is ok if you only need a'quick pick me up'drink/food wise. Not that dear which was good money wise.Would not rush back there in a hurry.
