“Great location for Wilpena area visit”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Our recent visit was our ninth stay in the cabins which we find a great place to visit when we have overseas visitors. We like the open views to Rawnsley Bluff and surrounding hills and have a ritual of getting up to Alison's Saddle for sunrise. From the Rawnsley Station we enjoy the day trip through the Bunyeroo Gorge, Aroona Valley and Brachina Gorge returning via the Moralana Scenic Route, without 4- wheel drive.
We always find the cabins well prepared for our visit and the BBQ's in good condition.

We stayed 2 nights in September 2013 and really enjoyed it. The combination of wonderful scenery and outstanding accommodation was just perfect. We loved watching the stars at night and clouds in the early morning, all from our bed! We loved the view from our verandah! The villas are close to Wilpena Pound and other attractions. They are actually not expensive when you consider where they are, the fantastic scenery and the standard of accommodation. We plan to return to Wilpena Pound and to stay at Rawnsley Park Eco Villas for a longer stay.

This was our first stay at Rawnsley Park, we flew in in our own aircraft and found the strip to be in good condition with a good parking area, though the ground was too hard for tie-downs. We called 30 min prior to arrival and overflew the homestead and they met us at the strip and gave us a lift to reception. The Eco Villa was very nice, a fair walk to the Woolshed restaurant but a lantern was provided and it was a nice night! The villa was warm and comfortable, with everything you could think of. We only stayed one night but it was well worth it.

Room Tip: The further you are from the Reception/restaurant the further you will have to walk.

Pleased to hear that the strip is holding up well. We graded & rolled it in the winter and it has turned out very well.
Walking is good for you! We do provide a pick up service for fly-ins when requested.

The most beautiful scenery all experienced from the veranda covered deck of a luxury eco villa - now this is camping with style. Tony and Julie as always were very gracious hosts and along with the staff have an in-depth knowledge of the surrounds. This is our third visit in four years with plans for another trip next year. Could not recommend more highly...

my family and I spent 2 nights at rawnsley park station, we stayed in the cabins just across from the woolshed restaurant. we went on the sunset tour which was just magical up the chase range looking at wilpena pound as the sun goes down, all can say it just do it!!!!!. we also went on the Arkapena and Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges tours they were an experience of a lifetime. then just before we left we took off home we took a 30 min flight over wilpena pound and flew over the gorges we had seen the day before. all we can say is WOW!!!! would highly recommend this place, the people are fantastic taught us so much about the area, we would have been flying blind without their knowledge of the area. the accommodation is great and VERY peaceful. would highly recommend this place to all and take the tours as the information and knowledge they have is so valuable. THANKYOU for an experience of a lifetime:)

Room Tip: the cabins are great close to the woolshed restaurant and central to all. there are bbq facilities a...

These cabins are great - no frills, but that's not what you want when you're here. There's a general store on site and barbecues if you want to cook, a well equipped kitchen on each cabin too - or there's a restaurant in the same compound if you prefer that. Bathroom and bedrooms are fine. There's two great walks right here too - one is around the Park at ground even, the other is up to Rawnsley Peak - a great walk. It's at the southern rim of Wilpena Pound so you're very near to everything there too. It's good.
