Owner description: What's big and beautiful and goes broom-broom? The National Motor Museum - located less than an hour from the centre of Adelaide, in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. The Museum features over 300 vehicles spanning over 100 years of Australian motoring history, from a steam carriage built in 1899 to modern hybrid cars. A diverse collection including motorcycles, cars, commercial vehicles, motoring curios and even a road train. The Museum is also home to the historic finish event of the famous Bay to Birdwood and holds the annual Rock & Roll Rendezvous every April with great live bands, stalls and hundreds of cars and motorbikes on show. There are lots of fun trails and interactives for families and visitors. The Museum can also cater to group bookings such as schools, car clubs, social groups and other events. It is the must see attraction in the Adelaide Hills.

The range of make and models is very broad, iconic cars and unknown ones, very very old to reasonably modern. Trucks, and bikes too!

What a truly wonderful place to visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the displays of cars and bikes are well organised and bring back a lot of good motoring memories. Its a wonderful day for families as well with well cared for grounds in a beautiful setting. If you come to Adelaide, you MUST get to Birdwood to see this Museum. Buses leave from Tea Tree Plaza and can bring you back in the afternoon.

A great day was spent wandering around the huge display of Australian Motoring History. A scenic drive through the Hills from the City, Beautifully maintained gardens provide a great setting for a Transportation Museum that the "Yanks' would be proud of. We lost count of the times we said.. Remember that car...
Will be back.

Lots of great interesting cars (and motor bikes too). Nice day trip with plenty of room for a picnic and a few antique shops for the family if they are not interested in cars. If you have kids visit the big Rocking Horse on the way from Adelaide

Hidden in the middle of the Adelaide Hills is this motor museum! We didn't expect too much but it was absolutely fantastic! The museum is so much bigger than expected, really well presented and set-up. Lots of fun for everybody, motor enthusiast or not! Plenty of entertainment for kids too :-)
The only thing that's missing is a VW camper van ;-)
