Unfortunately I think this restaurant is suffering because it is one of only two now open in Yungaburra and it thinks it can provide truly awful service serving up mediocre food at inflated prices.
My wife and I have visited Australia three times and are always impressed with the level of service and value for money, quality food delivered.
The Eden House was the exception. We waited nearly an hour for our main course and that was after prompting the staff. When the meals arrived my wife's watery lasagne was completely lost in the bottom of the bowl, much more the size of a starter than a main course, and my 'homemade' chicken pie, which was no better than I could have bought at the local take away, was served with a small scoop of potato and a few wilted spinach leaves. In addition although we ordered garlic bread to be served with the main course it was delivered well in advance when we pointed out the error it was taken away to be delivered after we had finished our main course. Neither meal was any where near worth the money we paid.
We were provided with complimentary deserts which went some way to making up for the problems but as to being asked if we wanted coffee, well I think the staff had given up by then.
We are not really big eaters but this is the first time we have walked away from a meal feeling hungry
If you are only in Yungaburra, a charming village well worth a visit, one night then go to Nick's restaurant, if you are there for longer then go to Nick's again.... and again.
