We went to see the Platypus on the first evening towards dusk without any luck. My wife was patient enough to go again just on dawn the next day and got to see a platypus twice. She was so excited that she ran back to get me but I couldn't be dragged from the TV due to the World Cup! You must try at dawn or at dusk and be ready to be patient.

I wasn't patient enough to see a platypus but then again I visited this site mainly to complete the 4km return walk that meanders alongside Peterson Creek. This walk has been constructed by the Yungaburra Landcare group and other supporting organisations over many years and it continues to be maintained and upgraded - in fact I noted a number of fresh plantings today! There are a number of interpretive signs along the route as well as sensitively positioned picnic tables and rest areas. It's a beautiful scenic and calming walk and showcases what's possible when community organisations work together to reclaim areas that were once farmed and degraded. Here's hoping that the farmer on the other side of the creek (where guinea grass and invasive weeds have taken over the river bank) will some day see his way clear to allow the rehabilitation of his land adjacent to this lovely little creek system.

Didn't seen any at the platform, but on the short walk along the creek, we saw plenty. Definitely worth doing.

We didn't see a platypus unfortunately, but enjoyed the walk very much.
We went to the viewing platform, then drove back to the creek & had a lovely walk along the creek over the swing bridge. It's well maintained, very peaceful & pretty. There's the odd seat nestled amongst the trees on the river bank for platypus spotting or just to sit & enjoy the beauty.

We parked and viewed a platypus almost immediately at the viewing platform. We then ventured down the Peterson Creek trail. It was a pleasant walk. On our way back, we saw another platypus in the creek. Look for the bubbles on the surface of the water to help you find them. They will surface nearby.
