“a beautiful little lake just off the highway”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

This is a lovely little lake with all kinds of interesting flora and fauna. There is a tea house and information centre, as well as boat tripsn (we did not take one) with a guide to talk about all the stuff there is to see.

“Stop off for a walk here”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Enjoyed a 15-minute walk through the rainforest here, there were several length walks, including a significantly longer one around the lake itself. Interesting site geologically.
Small issue with leeches, a risk in many rainforest areas; so check yourself carefully, as we had 8 between us after a relatively short walk. Just beware and don't freak out, table salt sprinkled on them will make them detach if you're squeamish about pulling them off.

“Pretty place”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

The tea rooms were closed when we arrived. But it's a pretty spot for a picnic, or a walk if you have the time.

“Quiet, good walking”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

An easy track leads around the lake, which is scenic, quiet and has plenty of wildlife. I'm arthritic but we managed the walk just after two pm in two hours. We should have completed it before lunch, not after!
