“Gorgeous little quiet getaway with affordable luxury”

Well-appointed cozy private cottage in a great location for exploring Tablelands or just a quiet stay listening to the birds and rain. Central in Yungaburra, walking distance to Platypus viewing platform, shops and restaurants. Lovely hosts. Highly recommended!

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved our stay. The cottages are very quiet and private and are well appointed with a kitchenette,a small dining table, king sized bed, big bathroom with spa bath, air conditioning and pot-belly stove for those colder nights. The country cottage decor was appropriate for it's location in lovely, historic Yungaburra. Yummy muesli and bread provided for breakfast. What makes this place really unique is the shared lounge area with big screen TV and complimentary wine between 5 and 6pm, along with yummy biscuits etc. The garden is gorgeous and I would have loved the chance to make use of the lovely barbeque and outdoor eating area. Unfortunately Cyclone Ita was dampening such opportunities. Only a very short walk took us to Nick's Swiss Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria for dinner and to the Yungaburra pub for a very good value meal the second night. Really lovely spot to stay while touring the gorgeous Tablelands.

My wife and I stayed for five nights in Cottage 1 in March 2014. We found the self contained cottage perfect for us during our stay as Yungaburra is a lovely little village and very centrally located for all that the magnificent Atherton Tablelands has to offer. I loved the lovely big bathroom and managed a couple of spa baths during my stay. My wife is a devoted AFL fan so we really enjoyed watching a few games on the big foxtel TV that Rob and Melanie have beautifully set up in an outside area, along with a wine or two that they provided during happy hour. Although we did not use the BBQ and spa that has been built, due to the wet weather, it has been beautifully done and along with the amazing gardens it is a credit to whoever is responsible.

We would thoroughly recommend these cottages, to any other couples who are travelling through this area.

My partner and I stayed here for a mid week night away and had a lovely time. The cottages are nice and private with a balcony overlooking the park, they're spacious and well set out with a big spa bath that easily fits two. There's so much to visit that's within an easy drive which makes this the perfect place to stay while checking out the Tablelands. My only criticism would be that there's no screens on the windows which means the mozzies get inside at night. Also the goat's milk toiletries that are mentioned on the website are just a bar soap and dispensers in the shower, it maybe would have been nice to have some stuff for the spa provided (you had to go buy this from the front desk). However all in all it was a lovely, comfortable night away and I would definitely return.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights and we were blown away with the beauty of the area of the Atherton Tablelands and loved our stay at Allumbah Pocket Cottages. These cottages are situated in Yungaburra and we felt that it was the best town on the tablelands. Yungaburra is quite small but has so much character and charm.

The accommodation is very well appointed and was at the back of the property so road noise is minimal. Our cottage had one large room with the entrance leading into the lounge/kitchenette and then up a step to the bed area. The bathroom was a separate room and had a large basin area, big shower and large spa bath and excellent toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of lighting for reading etc. There was airconditioning, big wood heater, tv, well appointed kitchen with a fridge, cooktop and microwave and crockery and utensils. There was a table and chairs, sofa and lounge chair and plenty of windows and beautiful green aspects to look out on. There was even a little porch with table and chairs to relax on. Wifi is available although not in all rooms but in the guest lounge area, full reception can be found.

For all guests to use, there was a guest lounge and kitchen, undercover with a huge smart tv, sofas, chairs, tables and there was happy hour every night with complimentary wine available. Tea and coffee is available 24/7. Also for the guests to use was a big barbeque area under cover with night lights and music available. The grounds of the property are beautifully maintained.

The owners were absolutely delightful and very willing to help with anything. Whilst there, two of the dining options were not available so we went to the local butcher and all was well. There is a small supermarket in the village with minimal items so either bring supplies from Cairns or go to Atherton which is close by.. We were on one of the deals that was for self catering but there are other options available.

Platypii watching can be done on the small bridge there and we were fortunate to see some. The Tablelands is so green with many rainforests and so much to see and do. There are waterfalls, lakes and a must see is the Avenue of Honour on Lake Tinaroo im memory of those that fell in Afghanistan.

We definitely recommend these cottages to stay when you visit the Tablelands.

We weren't too sure what to expect from the little pocket cottages... but we were wonderfully suprised by the spacious but cozy little cottage we found!

Each little cottage is nice a private, lovely spa bath big enough for two, decent shower and lovely goats milk toiletries.

Freshly baked bread still warm met us on arrival, along with a friendly smile!

Close to all the tourist attractions, but quiet and peaceful for the end of day!

A perfect place for that mid-week getaway!

Wow what a surprise we had after our trip from Port Douglas to find Yungaburra. Thank you to our hosts at Allumbah Pocket Cottages for making our trip to Atherton Tablelands so memorable. Loved our breakfast baskets with local produce and the homemade bread fresh from the oven on our arrival was a special touch. Our cottage was spacious and the bed really comfortable. I can certainly see us going back for another stay as there is so much to see and do.
