“Trying to find an excuse to return”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

Hi, thanks for the wonderful and reasonably priced stay yesterday. We are local from Cairns and honestly want to find an excuse to return! Your cottages are gorgeous and perfect for a romantic getaway, and the breakfast was delicious.

We booked this hotel to attend a wedding next door at Eden House. We paid just $130 for the night for a family of 4 (2 young kids). The cottage was just gorgeous! All timber floors, exceptionally clean, and equipped with everything we could have wanted! There was a TV, DVD player and DVD library, stereo and iPod dock, wood burning stove, and a fantastic corner spa bath in the bathroom that comfortably fits a whole family! Although the cottages are just off the main road, they were peaceful and quiet. I can't wait to go back without the kids for a romantic weekend away. I can't recommend it enough!

Bad sleep woke up with bites on my legs the room had ants In the bed in the bathroom and on the walls. left a night early because of the ant problem and was told we would get a refund on the last night , when checking out 10min later our "refund" was not offered any more. and was told bugs in the room were nothing to do with them.

not every helpful wont spend my weekend with them next time.

We were very disappointed that you cut short your Easter stay and then chose to post this complaint on the Trip Advisor site - our first complaint since we started business. We can only reassure our guests past and future that we value their custom and have and will always respond to any situation professionally and fairly. We are on a day to day basis conscious that our reputation and livelihood relies on your feedback. We try hard to please and ensure you leave with good memories and value for money. Rob and Melanie

I stayed for one night in early March while travelling around the tablelands. I booked on Wotif in the afternoon and showed up to find nobody in the office, so I called the number on the little sign at reception and a very helpful man answered who said that he had just popped out to get milk for my room, told me my room number and, as promised, the key was in the door. The room was very spacious, large king bed area and separate living area with kitchenette and large, clean bathroom. It's very quiet and relaxing (like the whole village) and the platypus viewing platform is only two mins down the road if you want to try your luck at dawn and dusk. Would stay again.

The cottages are perfect to explore the Atherton Tablelands from. The cottage was lovely and clean with lots of nice little touches. The light tropical breakfast was great to start the day in the tropics.

Rooms, facilities and gardens are immmaculate with lots of little personal touches. Wish i can post the smell of the piping hot home made bread waiting in our room! Very central location but quiet and restful. Will definitely be back.
