Absolutely loved this little place. The food was delicious and not pretentious; the staff were friendly and extremely efficient; the atmosphere was convivial; the service was polite yet welcoming. I just wish we had something like this in Townsville.

We turned up without a booking on a rainy Friday night. The restaurant look rather busy but the waitress was very kind and offered us one of the tables in their new dining room. The decor very much like in Europe, with beautiful mirrors and curtains - and the atmosphere relaxing and cosy. I instantly felt like home and even had a little talk to the staff who I found very professional and knowledgeable of their food and wine. We started with the pate, probably the best I've had in Australia, then had hand-made cannelloni and my wife ordered the beef cheeks with some ciabatta bread on side. When the food arrived, we were both nothing but impressed. You can tell the pasta was made same day because it was very, very fresh, soft and the prawn stuffing itself, just melted in my mouth with the tomato sauce. My wife's beef was to die for. I tried some of his red wine jus with the bread and it was exactly like we cook it back home. Desserts were even better , just couldn't fit anything more!!!!! Sadly, it was our last night in Australia but I'm going to recommend this place to anyone who is a foodie or is passionate about European food. Thank you Liam and your lovely waitress. We hope to come back!

Have just been again to Flynn's for lunch! I could not fault the service or the meal. The scallop dish I had for mains was succulent and superbly cooked. The Crème Brulee was to die for! The notable and outstanding feature of this restaurant is consistency and quality, fresh, ingredients. Full marks again Liam.

From the moment my wife and I stepped through the door, Flynn's felt as cozy as a hug. We'd worked up a serious appetite climbing over Paronella Castle and after being charmed by the Estonian dynamo of a waitress, we were tucking into some deceptively simple and seriously tasty cuisine. Pate, vegi pie, roast duck and chocolate Bavarian were in turn served up and devoured, all washed down by a well-recommended glugs of Pinot.

Incorrigible laggards, we ended up being the last patrons in the joint. This would annoy most wait staff in our home town of Sydney but that's not how they roll in Yungaburra. Chef Liam came out for a chinwag and after an impassioned discussion on the difficulties of finding good bread, he gifted us a big loaf of his house ciabatta.

It's not often a country dinner becomes one of the highlights of your Honeymoon.
