“Loved this beautiful old hotel.”

We three business ladies decided to experience the charm of this great town and had an overnight stay.
The North Gregory is right in the heart of the main street and has been recently refurbished and looks fantastic.
We had a wine on the verandah before dinner, a delicious meal with work colleagues and a great nights sleep in the comfy bed.
We felt we had been on a little holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We look forward to our next visit.

What a fantastic stay and experience at the North Gregory Hotel.

Rooms are fantastic, sitting on the balcony having pre dinner drinks, looking at the amazing street and outback view. We had dinner in the dinning room with first class food, service and even nice live soft entertainment. The staff and service is above average and beyond. I live in the bush but this experience for one night felt like I had had a holiday and the retro decor was unbelievable.
I will be back and will be recommending The North Gregory to my colleagues. Thank you North Gregory and staff

I have been a local of Longreach and frequented Winton for the past 15 years. It is so nice to see new owners come in and pour some much needed love into this great pub/hotel. The decor is funky and retro and suits the old building. The service was fanastic and our dining experience was great! I will without a doubt be back again. Thank you for your fantastic hospitality and I look forward to seeing stage two. Keep up the good work!

After weary travel through the outback and becoming used to second rate food and accom, it was lovely and refreshing to experience the first class food and hospitality on offer at this truly unique Australian hotel. The recent renovation is amazing and the grill was mouth watering.

Interesting architecture from another era. Room was small and dark and needed renovating. Ensuite had a bad smell. Staff seemed disinterested. Wanted to inform staff about the smell in the morning when we were leaving but no-one was about.
Verhanda was good and beer garden quite appealing. There are probably better options in Winton.

Thank you for taking the time to inform us of your recent experience at the North Gregory Hotel. We are working hard to enhance visitor stays at this historic hotel with a series of staged renovations. The bathrooms, whilst basic, are clean and functional. Winton’s water supply comes from three artesian bores some 1200 metres underground. We locals believe the water is the best in the country, but we appreciate that some of our guests may not appreciate the strong sulphur odour (which may have been what you experienced). Our new (odourless) water system has now been installed with this in mind. We too enjoy our heritage styled veranda overlooking Winton’s main street and tucking into the ‘best steaks in town’ at our Outback Char Grill (beer garden). Thanks once again for your feedback and rest assured that we will continue to work hard on our customer service.

Its a shame, this hotel could be a lot better if the hotelier had a eye for detail. The rooms are not clean and have not been cleaned properly for a long time with built up grime in the bath,on taps and in every corner of the bathroom. It's not the bore water that's is causing this, it just needs a bit of elbow grease!
The hotel itself has a great deal of charm being built in the 50's it retains some of the art deco qualities of the period. The rooms have had an attempt at renovation.
Friday nights are noisy with the bar not closing until 1am.
We stayed two nights and our room was not serviced at all on the second day, we mentioned this to the staff late afternoon and there was no offer to service the room so we pulled up the bedcovers asked for some milk etc.
I hope someone in the management of this lovely old hotel lifts their game.
