My husband and I stayed this past weekend in one of the suites and had a lovely time. The suite was perfect for our needs with the fireplace so very welcome for the cold nights and the beds nice and comfy. The view from the patio of the pond with all the ducks and birds made sitting outside really pleasant. Saturday morning was a continental breakfast box which had more than enough food for the two of us, Sunday was a cooked breakfast in the dining room and it was delicious. I had Eggs Benedict with avocado and bacon and my husband had "The Lot" full breakfast. The only criticism he had was the porridge he ordered to start - as a porridge lover he was disappointed saying it was really under-cooked.
The main building houses a comfortable lounge/bar with views into their own microbrewery and a large dining room. After a lovely day out walking in Girraween and afternoon tea at the Bramble Patch we relaxed and enjoyed a paddle of 4 of the 7 beers they had brewed and even had a couple of schooners of our favorites. Dinner was delicious. Tony has his usual steak but I tried the chef's signature dish of Twice Cooked Pork Belly and it was wonderful.
The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning in the future hopefully bringing some friends along and staying in one of the cabins. Thank you for a lovely weekend

Hadn't been here for six years but returned with friends for a two night stay over the weekend. New super friendly owners made our stay a pleasant one. Good value, lovely cooked breakfast on the Sunday morning and a cosy log fire in the all timber cabins. Yes it is a short 5 minute trip into town but the serenity of the place makes it well worthwhile. Sleep quality was excellent with good quality linen. Didn''t eat at the restaurant but can thoroughly recommend both the Aussie Beef Steakhouse and Yim Thai in town. Don't forget to make a trip out to the Bramble Patch one day for a tasty lunch and coffee. Can't wait to get back to Happy Valley next winter.

Room Tip: From previous stays we found the cabins straight past the reception area probably have a more open d...

We were two of three couples visiting Stanthorpe who spent 2 glorious nights during Brass Monkey Season at the Happy Valley Resort. The accommodation at the Resort was fantastic. clean, tidy with a wood fire heater. A Continental breakfast basket was supplied for the first morning with a hot breakfast in the Resort Restaurant on the Sunday morning. you would not get better anywhere. On the Saturday Night we attended the Christmas in July 3 course Dinner with entertainment, a visit from Santa Claus with a present for all children and a small gift for all guests. It was a wonderful evening and great value for money.

Mine host Dee and Geoff- were wonderful as were all the Staff. We and our companions are full off accolades for the Resort, owners and staff and will definitely be returning in the future. Have to try some more of their Craft Beer- good stuff.

It sounds like you had a great weekend away, and we are so glad we were able to assist with this.
Last night we celebrated our 6th and final Medieval Christmas in Winter. They were all very successful weekends and are a great excuse for family and friends to get together.

We hope you and your friends will visit us again for another weekend away at some stage.

Thanks for your great review.

I stayed at Happy Valley on my way up to Queensland from Sydney and had a lovely time. The place has a very relaxed feel and you have a real sense of being in the middle of a community. I loved having my own fire in the cabin (along with foolproof fire lighting instructions). As soon as I walked out of the back door of the cabin I was greeted by ducks who proceeded to demand food and then nibble my fingers when I ran out. Nice little bar and restaurant too.

Our memories were of the coziness and comfort of these hideaway cabins in lovely bushland peace and privacy and we were not disappointed!!!! For a time-out relaxing break, it takes some beating. We would very readily recommend Happy Valley to anyone looking for a short break with maximum benefit.
Dinner at the restaurant was most enjoyable and the atmosphere very pleasant.
We'll be back again in the future. We love it.

We recently stayed at the Retreat with our son for a football carnival in Stanthorpe. Whilst some of our friends were experiencing disappointing hospitality in Stanthorpe, we were very happy to invite them and their families out for an afternoon around the fire with some lovely Stanthorpe beers and wines. The boys had a great time climbing the mountains, playing football in the grounds and enjoying the space and freedom.
The cabin was not elaborate but certainly warm and inviting and everything worked properly, although the shower took a while to regulate. There was plenty of food provided for breakfast and the restaurant food was plentiful.
The staff were always friendly and ready to help. We certainly felt looked after whilst enjoying the privacy of our cabin.

Happy Valley was certainly a hive of activity during the week you stayed.
We loved how all the kids played football in the paddocks and climbed our big boulders.
We are very glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you another time.

What a little piece of paradise! We were made to feel so so welcome as soon as we showed up. It was like the owners were excited that we were there and looked forward to us having a great weekend.

My husband and I were on our first 'baby free' weekend after our son was born 11 months ago, and this was the perfect location and venue. The cabin was lovely, and so warm and cosy with the fireplace going. We borrowed some dvds and Dee was very helpful with recommending some movies we may like (which we thoroughly enjoyed). Dee also told us of all the great places to go in the area.

We ate at the restaurant one of the nights and the Salmon was AMAZING, as well as the lovely and accommodating staff. We were told to make a reservation (which I strongly recommend you do as it is very popular) however we forgot but they set another table up especially for us and assured us it was no trouble.

We would recommend Happy Valley highly and are looking forward to coming back again.
