“Brilliant Dog-Friendly Accommodation”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

Amazing accommodation! Had both of our beagles inside with us and they allow dogs to roam the gardens off leash if you want. Service was outstanding, included liver treats and a box of toys with our welcome package (choccies, local wine, breakfast hamper and freshly baked bread).

The have their own 9 hole golf course and of course the gardens are beautiful (loved the roses myself). We woke up to king parrots and finches in the bird feeder in front of our cabins and chased the many rabbits across the golf course with the hounds. Was fantastic. Brilliant service, highly recommended.

Just a warning. they are obviously not on town water so don't be surprised if you bath water is a little more yellow than usual. Also, they ask that you only use the fireplace in winter (the air con on 'hot' is more than enough in Autumn).

Room Tip: There are only three cabins but they are all quite close to each other. We got lucky and were the on...

Granite Gardens is exactly as portrayed on the website. The cottages are private with lovely furnishings, each has a fireplace for winter and aircon for summer. The breakfast is substantial compared to most offerings in the area and the wine, chocolates and fresh bread are lovely touches which make the experience more special. The hosts are friendly and the gardens magnificent. Another bonus is the golf course on the grounds for a bit of added fun if you need to do more than sit on the verandah and look out over the roses and small lake. It should be noted that the cottages are about 10 to 15 minutes drive away from shops and facilities, however for us the seclusion and rural setting was perfect. The mid week package was also very good value compared to other accommodation in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in Lilac Heaven which was probably the most private cottage, being on the end furtherest f...

Had a lovely 5 days here. Such a friendly welcome by our hosts,Jan and Chris with breakfast basket, including bottle of wine, freshly baked bread and so many other little extras supplied in our cottage. We stayed in Golden Touch(just lovely) overlooking the lake and many rose gardens to wander through. Being pet friendly, enabled us to be able to have our Cavalier, Basil with us, who had a ball with so many different smells around the property( rabbits, kangaroos etc.)Thank you Chris and Jan for checking on him when we went out. Had a game of golf and caught fish in the lake,(catch and release of course). Quiet, relaxing and very pretty spot. Loved it and we will be back.

We arrived just after sunset and followed the fairy lights around the lake to our cottage and were welcomed with a bottle of red and freshly baked bread in ourbreakfast basket. The rain and cold soon forgotten as the heater was on until we got the fire going. The accommodation is beautifully presented with little extras like chocolates and fluffy robes. There is lots to do nearby or just read in front of the fire, walk around the gardens or pitch and putt the 9 hole golf course. We'll definitely go back.

We stayed with 3 couples a cottage for each...Clean, Cosey lovely view of the lake. Space for us to join each other in and outside the cottage...The cottage was well catered...Air Conditioning- A cute litte fire place...Each cottage has pleanty of privacy if so required.
I was lucky enough to see lots of King Parrots, blue wrens and a beautiful bird with a golden breast...Would recommend to anyone looking at staying in Stanthorpe...
I recommend dinner at Shiraz Restaurant maxi taxi 20min drive $20 per couple each way.
Also a must is Apple Pie at Suttons Cafe Apple Orchard...and of course the wineries...

Room Tip: All cottages are lovely however the Lilac Heaven and Golden Touch have a nicer view of the lake.

Jan and Chris set the bar for our 3 night stay in Granite Gardens, fresh bread a warm cabin and a cold bottle of local wine to start our stay. Special touches, chocolates, roses, DVD's fluffy robes and a big brekky basket. What a great time out for us the gardens were lovely and we even had a round of golf. Our cottage was clean and we enjoyed the treat of having a spa every night. We will be back and recommeding it to our friends, family and colleagues. Thanks for the wonderful base of our special stay in Stanthorpe.

My husband and I had the good fortune to book into Granite Gardens for a two night stay. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming. Granite Gardens accomodation is set around a lake and extensive gardens. The accomodation is very private and everything is provided for a luxurious stay, for any season of the year. Our breakfast provisions sustained us for much more than just breakfast meals and the bottle of wine, superb. Mark was very helpfull in giving us directions and advise on places to see while in Stanthorpe and surrounds. My husband is a keen gardener and spent a lot of time harassing the owners about their growing conditions etc. We can't wait to go back for another visit and will recommend this accomodation to anyone we know who wants to visit Stanthorpe.
