Let's face it - despite its beautiful surrounds, Stanthorpe is not exactly a tourist destination. It is however the ideal stopover between southeast Queensland and northwest NSW. We looked for a motel that catered for overnight stays, and we definitely found it in the High Street Motor Inn.
Don't be put off by the average-looking exterior. The room we had (family room 22) was very clean, spacious and well appointed, with a modern bathroom. The beds were SOOOO comfy - so welcome after a big day of driving - we had an amazing sleep.
The hosts were very friendly, and very accommodating with our late arrival. Another great feature is the undercover parking, which allowed us to unpack and pack the car during heavy rain.More
