Off the beaten track, though not far you will find Claudia's Country Restaurant at the Thunderbolt Farm Estate Winery.
Went for lunch in March 2010. We are a family of foodies and were looking forward to some German fayre at Claudia's. I was a bit disappointed that menu wasn't more "German focused" though I guess they need to cater for all tastes.
We ordered the German sausages which were excellent, served with pan fried potatoes & onions and coleslaw and also Beef Burgundy Pie which although tasty was definitely on the small side and to my mind the sauce could have been slightly thickened and was served with buttery vegetables.
We had the apple strudel for dessert which didn't disappoint - nicely spicy with crisp pastry served with cream and icecream.
My husband was delighted with the choices of German beer on offer.
The weather was warm enough for the plastic blinds to be lifted so we were treated to some lovely views as well as watching a family of ducks waddle about on the farm.
